I am really looking for some solid advice on how to use ubtan powder. The other day, I was chatting with my grandmother, and she told me stories about how she used ubtan powder every week when she was younger. Honestly, I’ve been struggling with my skin lately—my face feels kinda rough and dull. I've tried creams and all but they just don’t help, and I started thinking maybe I should try something more natural, like um, the ubtan powder? I bought a pack from a local shop that smells amazing, but there's so much info out there and I'm confused. Do I mix it with water, yogurt, or like, coconut oil? And how long should I keep it on my face? I've seen some people say 15 mins and others say less? Also, do you use it daily or just once a week? At my last visit to the doc, they mentioned my skin issues could be from stress too, but I feel like ubtan might really help. Any tips on how to use ubtan powder correctly? Really appreciate your help!

Generally, ubtan works well for all skin types, but certain mixing agents might suit you better depending on your skin’s current state and your predominant dosha. For dry skin, which often has a Vata imbalance, mixing the ubtan with milk or yogurt can be beneficial as they provide moisture. For oily skin, which might indicate a Pitta or Kapha imbalance, rose water or just plain water can be ideal as they’re more astringent.

Once you’ve chose your mixing agent, you’ll want to create a paste that’s thick enough to spread easily, but not drippy. Usually, about one to two tablespoons of ubtan powder with enough liquid to bind it into a spreadable paste is a good start.

Apply the paste on clean, dry skin. It’s important to apply it evenly across your face, avoiding the sensitive areas around your eyes and lips. Keep it on for about 10 to 15 minutes. However, if you feel any discomfort or if the mask dries and begins to crack, you can rinse it off sooner. Ubtan is designed to exfoliate gently - you don’t need to scrub vigorously. As you rinse it off, use circular motions to further aid in the exfoliation process.

Frequency of use for ubtan depends on your skin’s response. For most, once a week is sufficient. However, if your skin tolerates it well, you might gradually increase this to two times a week. Daily use isn’t typically recommended as it could potentially over-exfoliate your skin.

Given that stress might be a part of your skin concerns, consider complementing your ubtan routine with stress-reducing practices, such as Pranayama or meditation. These Ayurvedic practices can significantly contribute to hormonal balance and overall skin health.
