Doctors' responses

Hello Mr Sanjay, I would suggest you to please continue with your doctor’s protocol as you already got good result. Focus on eating two meals only, nothing after 6pm. Walk atleast one hour everyday. Pranayam for 15 mins twice on empty stomach. This should surely help if you haven’t done earlier. Drink only hot water after meals.

It’s great to hear about your progress in managing your diabetes, particularly with your HbA1c dropping to 6.4. Since you’ve reached a plateau and are looking for further guidance, it may be beneficial to reassess your overall approach to both diet and Ayurvedic treatments to enhance your results.

Continue incorporating Gudmar (Gymnema sylvestre) and Karela (bitter gourd) juice into your daily routine, as both are known for their blood sugar-lowering properties. Additionally, consider adding Amla (Indian gooseberry) to your regimen, as it can help regulate blood sugar levels and improve overall metabolic health. Consuming Fenugreek seeds, either soaked overnight or in powder form, can also assist in better glucose management.

Revisit your diet by focusing on low glycemic index foods, whole grains, and a variety of colorful vegetables while avoiding refined sugars and processed foods. Regular physical activity is crucial as well; aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days to help improve insulin sensitivity.

Since your progress has plateaued, you may want to consult your Ayurvedic practitioner for a comprehensive evaluation to fine-tune your custom herbal formulation. They may suggest additional herbs, adjustments to your existing medicines, or lifestyle changes tailored to your current condition. Regular monitoring of your blood sugar levels will also help you make informed decisions about any adjustments needed in your treatment plan. Balancing diet, lifestyle, and herbal support can lead to continued improvement in managing your diabetes.

Hey, sounds like you’ve made some real progress there! First off, dropping your HbA1c from 9.6 to 6.4 is no small feat, and it’s great to see your fasting sugar levels coming down as well. But I totally get the frustration when it feels like you hit a plateau.

Now, let’s see what we can tweak. First, are you consistent with your routines? Things like stress, irregular meal timings, and sleep patterns can sneakily affect your blood sugar levels, and sometimes we don’t even realize it. Ensuring meals around the same time can keep your Agni (digestive fire) steady, which is super important for your metabolism.

About your current regimen, gudmar and karela-jamun are solid choices, but maybe it’s time to revisit them. Try switching the timing of when you take these. Maybe take the karela jamun juice before meals to help moderate that post-meal spike. Also, I’d suggest trying a Trikatu churna around 15-20 mins before meals to enhance digestion and help with the sugar levels.

Additionally, focus on a bit on your lifestyle. Gentle walks post-meals, at least for 15-20 minutes can be realy helpful to reduce glucose levels. Yoga can work wonders too, especially asanas like Matsyasana, and Setubandhasana, believed to aid pancreas function. Don’t forget breathing exercises; just five mins in the morning can be a game-changer for stress.

Also, the foods you eat play a huge role. Look into adding more bitter and astringent foods. Think of stuff like fenugreek (methi) seeds. Soak them overnight, eat them on empty stomach in the morning to aid sugar control. Watch your wheat consumption, maybe explore millets once in a while. They’re said to be more stabilizing, according to some Ayurvedic beliefs.

But hey, you know your body best—observe and listen. If something feels off, or if you have any sudden changes, please consult with your doc. Sometimes a change in routine or supplement can make all the diiference.
