●Main causes of constipation • Lack of fiber in the diet • Not drinking enough water • Excessive meat consumption • Cold, stale, and dry food • Lack of exercise and physical activity • Vata-dominant nature • Late-night meals and irregular daily routines Ayurveda states that Vata imbalance = stool imbalance ●The Importance of a Vata-Soothing Diet The first step to preventing constipation is a vata-soothing diet. Avoid: Cold food and drinks Salads Dried fruits Excessive lentils and kidney beans Stale food Adopt: Warm, fresh food Well-cooked vegetables Warm water A small amount of oil or ghee ●Triphala Triphala: The Best Ayurvedic Remedy It is the most balanced Ayurvedic treatment for constipation. How to consume: • 1 teaspoon of Triphala • 1 cup of warm water • Soak for 5-10 minutes • Consume at night If you have frequent urination at night, take Triphala in the morning on an empty stomach. ●Why is fiber important? Fiber softens and makes stools more mobile. Include in your diet: • Porridge • Oats • Wheat bran • Whole grains • Fresh fruits and vegetables Fiber + water = easier bowel movements. ●Castor Oil (in special circumstances) Method – • Ginger tea • Add 2 teaspoons of castor oil • Consume at night. Do not use regularly as it can be habit-forming. ●Use of Flaxseed At night • 1 teaspoon of flaxseed • Boil in 1 cup of water • Drink with the seeds. This lubricates and speeds up bowel movements.

Namaste Vivek, Aapki problem — bhookh ka kam lagna (mandagni) aur daily hard stool — indicate karti hai digestion weakness ke saath vata imbalance. The focus should be on improving digestion (agni) and softening bowel movement. Subah uthkar ek glass warm water lein. Din bhar thoda-thoda warm water sip karein. Khana hamesha garam aur fresh lein. Moong dal, khichdi, cooked sabzi, aur thoda ghee diet me include karein. Cold drinks, junk food, aur dry foods (like biscuits, namkeen) avoid karein. Meal timing fix rakhein aur overeating na karein. Raat ko late na khayein. Ayurvedic medicines with dose and timing: Chitrakadi Vati – 1 tablet, twice daily before food Avipattikar Churna – 1 teaspoon at bedtime with warm water Triphala Churna – 1 teaspoon at bedtime with warm water (if constipation is severe) These are traditionally used to improve digestion, increase appetite, and regulate bowel movement when taken with proper routine.
