I was facing loose sticky motion once a day every morning with bloating. So dr told i have mandagni with pitta aggravation. So he told me to first digest aam using panchkol for half a day then start having chitrakadi vati before meals and dadimashtaka after meal along with kitchari diet.I followed everything for 3 days.I didn't take bilvadi churna he adviced. After this my motion was not sticky also not loose. It was very loosely formed. After discontinuing medicine motion again became sticky & loose. Was this bcoz i missed the GRAHI medicine or something else?

Your response pattern suggests: ----The treatment is working But the gut is not yet stable on its own So it still depends on external support (medicine + diet) That’s why stopping leads to return of symptoms. – gut is still sensitive, if u don’t take the medicine at this moment u will get return of symptoms, the balance will take time . So if treatment is suiting your body follow it with discipline with proper diet and lifestyle modification

Hello, The return of symptoms after stopping treatment suggests that while the initial phase successfully improved your digestion (Agni), the underlying imbalance (Mandagni) and the presence of metabolic toxins (Amadosha) were not fully resolved. In Ayurveda, sticky and loose stools (known as Saama Purisha) indicate that food is not being completely processed. The medicines you took Panchakol and Chitrakadi Vati are Deepana-Pachana drugs, meaning they “kindle the fire” and “digest toxins.” The reason your symptoms returned is likely two-fold: Incomplete Treatment: Three days is a very short window for correcting chronic Mandagni. When you stopped, your digestive fire was not yet strong enough to function on its own. You mentioned missing the Grahi medicine (Bilvadi Churna). While Pachana medicines digest the toxins, Grahi medicines have an absorbent and “holding” quality. They improve the consistency of the stool and help the intestines absorb water correctly. Without this, the stool may remain unformed even if the “stickiness” initially improves. To stabilize the digestive fire and ensure proper stool formation, you may consider this revised protocol: 1. Hinguvachadi Gulika Take 1 tablet twice daily, 30 minutes before meals. This is excellent for correcting Mandagni and relieving bloating by regulating the downward movement of air (Vata). 2. Dadimashtaka Churna Take 3 grams (approx. 1 teaspoon) twice daily after meals with lukewarm water or buttermilk. This acts as a mild Grahi to improve stool consistency and balance Pitta in the digestive tract. 3. Kutajarishtam Take 15 ml mixed with 15 ml of lukewarm water twice daily after meals. This is a classic Kerala Ayurveda preparation that specifically targets the “looseness” and ensures the digestive lining recovers.

Yes, your observation is correct—this happens commonly in Mandagni with Pitta aggravation when treatment is stopped too early. Your digestion (Agni) was temporarily corrected by Deepana–Pachana medicines like Panchkol and Chitrakadi Vati. This reduced Ama and improved stool form. But the root Agni is still weak, so once medicines are stopped, Ama forms again, leading to sticky, loose stool and bloating. About missing Grahi medicine: Yes, partially. Grahi drugs (like Bilvadi) help absorb excess moisture and bind stool, so skipping them can contribute. However, the main reason is incomplete Agni restoration, not just one missed medicine. What to do: Continue Deepana–Pachana (Chitrakadi Vati) for a longer duration (2–4 weeks) Add tab Amoebica - 2 tab twice a day after meal Follow light diet (khichadi, warm food, no raw/heavy items) Take jeera + ajwain warm water after meals Avoid stopping treatment abruptly—taper gradually

What you’re noticing actually makes sense from an Ayurvedic point of view—and it doesn’t mean the treatment failed. It means the root imbalance isn’t fully corrected yet. 🔎 Why your stool improved on treatment but relapsed after stopping Your doctor treated you for: Mandagni (low digestive fire) Pitta aggravation Ama (toxins). 👉 While you were taking them: Agni improved temporarily Ama reduced Stool became better 👉 After stopping: Your original weak Agni returned So symptoms (sticky, loose stool + bloating) came back. Don’t stop medicines now it will take time. So, take proper medication. Bilvadi churna (Grahi) helps: Absorb excess moisture Bind stool 👉 Since you skipped it: Your stool didn’t get proper “binding support” Don’t stop abruptly You need gradual tapering, not sudden stopping Before meals Chitrakadi Vati – continue (low dose) After meals Dadimashtaka churna – continue Add now (important) Bilvadi churna – ½ tsp after meals 👉 This will fix stickiness and looseness. 1.Chitrakadi vati 2 tab twice daily with warm water before meals 2.Bilvadi churna 1/2 tsp twice daily with butter milk after meals 3.Dadimashtak churna 1/2 tsp twice daily with lukewarm water after meals 4.Mustakrishta 20 ml with 20 ml water twice daily after meals Diet and Lifestyle -Stick to Khichari: Continue the light diet until your stools are consistently well-formed for at least 5–7 days. -Warm Water: Drink warm water processed with Jeera (cumin) and Ajwain (carom seeds) throughout the day to prevent bloating. -Avoid Triggers: Steer clear of raw salads, cold drinks, and heavy/oily foods, as these immediately dampen a weak Agni.

This usually happens when digestion (Agni) has not yet stabilised fully. The medicines you took were helping to correct digestion and absorb excess moisture, but stopping them early can bring the symptoms back. It is not only because you missed the grahi medicine, but more because the root digestion is still weak, so ama formation and loose sticky stool returns once support is withdrawn. For now, focus on strengthening digestion consistently for a longer duration. Keep diet simple like kitchari, warm food, avoid curd, heavy, oily, and cold items. Do not rush back to normal diet immediately. At home, you can take jeera + coriander boiled water once daily, and a small piece of ginger with salt before meals to improve digestion. Chitrakadi vati – 1 tablet before meals twice daily Dadimashtaka churna – ½ teaspoon after meals Bilvadi churna – ½ teaspoon twice daily after food Continue for at least 2–3 weeks, then gradually taper. This will help stabilise digestion and prevent recurrence. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)

Hello, Yes- you’ve understood it almost correctly The relapse is mainly because the ‘grahi (binding/stabilizing)’ part of treatment was incomplete What happened in your case Your condition= mandagni + pitta + ama + grahani tendency 1) Ama digestion -panchkol-> perfect 2) Agni deepana (improving digestion) -chitrakadi vati-> perfect 3) Grahi (stool binding + intestinal stabilization -Dadimashtaka + bilvadi churna= not fully followed Why stools improved then worsened During medicine -ama reduction -digestion improved -stool become formed After stopping -Gut stabilizing was not fully establihed so symptoms returned -sticky stool -loose tendency -bloating Deepana (chitrakadi) improves digestion But Grahi stabilizes intestine Without Grahi -stool won’t hold properly condition relapses quickly What you should do now 1) Restart structured treatment -Chitrakadi vati= 1 tab twice daily before meals for digestion -Dadimashtaka churna= 1/2 tsp with warm water after meals -Bilvadi choornam= 1/2 tsp twice daily after meals Duration important -Minimum 3-4 weeks not just few days Grahani disorders need sustained treatment Diet continue strictly -khichdi -light, warm food -avoid raw, cold, oily foods Add -Kutajarishta = 15ml + warm water twice daily after meals =if loose/sticky stool persists What to expect -1 week= stool less sticky -2-3 weeks= proper formation -1 month= stability improves Yes- missing grahi medicine is the main reason Plus short duration of treatment This is a classic grahani pattern -improves with medicine -relapses if stooped early Complete al 3 step= ama -> agni-> grahi Continue treatment long enough Don’t stop as soon as you feel better Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you

Looks like all the doshas have not been pacified so you have been experiencing the symptoms again. Get back to all the medications. Donot skip bilwa as it places a major role in the treatment. You can go for Bilwadi leham if taing choorna is not fesable. Most important is lifestyle. Alter it back to the old guided path. Follow some simple lifestyle changes and dietary changes ??Do’s?? Drink buttermilk daily. Eat freshly cooked food. Drink warm water. Lunch and dinner on fixed timings. 100 steps after every meal. If possible dinner as early as 7-8 pm. ?Don’ts:? Packed and processed food. Ready to eat items. Oily and spicy food. Sour and fermented products. Dals (only moong dal can be eaten) Besan Raw vegetables and sprouts Curd Reduce dairy intake.
