Yes, your observation is correct—this happens commonly in Mandagni with Pitta aggravation when treatment is stopped too early. Your digestion (Agni) was temporarily corrected by Deepana–Pachana medicines like Panchkol and Chitrakadi Vati. This reduced Ama and improved stool form. But the root Agni is still weak, so once medicines are stopped, Ama forms again, leading to sticky, loose stool and bloating. About missing Grahi medicine: Yes, partially. Grahi drugs (like Bilvadi) help absorb excess moisture and bind stool, so skipping them can contribute. However, the main reason is incomplete Agni restoration, not just one missed medicine. What to do: Continue Deepana–Pachana (Chitrakadi Vati) for a longer duration (2–4 weeks) Add tab Amoebica - 2 tab twice a day after meal Follow light diet (khichadi, warm food, no raw/heavy items) Take jeera + ajwain warm water after meals Avoid stopping treatment abruptly—taper gradually
What you’re noticing actually makes sense from an Ayurvedic point of view—and it doesn’t mean the treatment failed. It means the root imbalance isn’t fully corrected yet. 🔎 Why your stool improved on treatment but relapsed after stopping Your doctor treated you for: Mandagni (low digestive fire) Pitta aggravation Ama (toxins). 👉 While you were taking them: Agni improved temporarily Ama reduced Stool became better 👉 After stopping: Your original weak Agni returned So symptoms (sticky, loose stool + bloating) came back. Don’t stop medicines now it will take time. So, take proper medication. Bilvadi churna (Grahi) helps: Absorb excess moisture Bind stool 👉 Since you skipped it: Your stool didn’t get proper “binding support” Don’t stop abruptly You need gradual tapering, not sudden stopping Before meals Chitrakadi Vati – continue (low dose) After meals Dadimashtaka churna – continue Add now (important) Bilvadi churna – ½ tsp after meals 👉 This will fix stickiness and looseness. 1.Chitrakadi vati 2 tab twice daily with warm water before meals 2.Bilvadi churna 1/2 tsp twice daily with butter milk after meals 3.Dadimashtak churna 1/2 tsp twice daily with lukewarm water after meals 4.Mustakrishta 20 ml with 20 ml water twice daily after meals Diet and Lifestyle -Stick to Khichari: Continue the light diet until your stools are consistently well-formed for at least 5–7 days. -Warm Water: Drink warm water processed with Jeera (cumin) and Ajwain (carom seeds) throughout the day to prevent bloating. -Avoid Triggers: Steer clear of raw salads, cold drinks, and heavy/oily foods, as these immediately dampen a weak Agni.
This usually happens when digestion (Agni) has not yet stabilised fully. The medicines you took were helping to correct digestion and absorb excess moisture, but stopping them early can bring the symptoms back. It is not only because you missed the grahi medicine, but more because the root digestion is still weak, so ama formation and loose sticky stool returns once support is withdrawn. For now, focus on strengthening digestion consistently for a longer duration. Keep diet simple like kitchari, warm food, avoid curd, heavy, oily, and cold items. Do not rush back to normal diet immediately. At home, you can take jeera + coriander boiled water once daily, and a small piece of ginger with salt before meals to improve digestion. Chitrakadi vati – 1 tablet before meals twice daily Dadimashtaka churna – ½ teaspoon after meals Bilvadi churna – ½ teaspoon twice daily after food Continue for at least 2–3 weeks, then gradually taper. This will help stabilise digestion and prevent recurrence. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
Hello, Yes- you’ve understood it almost correctly The relapse is mainly because the ‘grahi (binding/stabilizing)’ part of treatment was incomplete What happened in your case Your condition= mandagni + pitta + ama + grahani tendency 1) Ama digestion -panchkol-> perfect 2) Agni deepana (improving digestion) -chitrakadi vati-> perfect 3) Grahi (stool binding + intestinal stabilization -Dadimashtaka + bilvadi churna= not fully followed Why stools improved then worsened During medicine -ama reduction -digestion improved -stool become formed After stopping -Gut stabilizing was not fully establihed so symptoms returned -sticky stool -loose tendency -bloating Deepana (chitrakadi) improves digestion But Grahi stabilizes intestine Without Grahi -stool won’t hold properly condition relapses quickly What you should do now 1) Restart structured treatment -Chitrakadi vati= 1 tab twice daily before meals for digestion -Dadimashtaka churna= 1/2 tsp with warm water after meals -Bilvadi choornam= 1/2 tsp twice daily after meals Duration important -Minimum 3-4 weeks not just few days Grahani disorders need sustained treatment Diet continue strictly -khichdi -light, warm food -avoid raw, cold, oily foods Add -Kutajarishta = 15ml + warm water twice daily after meals =if loose/sticky stool persists What to expect -1 week= stool less sticky -2-3 weeks= proper formation -1 month= stability improves Yes- missing grahi medicine is the main reason Plus short duration of treatment This is a classic grahani pattern -improves with medicine -relapses if stooped early Complete al 3 step= ama -> agni-> grahi Continue treatment long enough Don’t stop as soon as you feel better Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you
