While doing pranayama, yoga and Meditation after some gap getting belching and it continues even after finishing.

This is mainly due to Vata dosha imbalance, especially movement of air in the stomach. After a gap, pranayama can aggravate Vata and digestive fire (Agni) slightly. Because your digestion is already weak, it leads to Udgar (belching). —What to do -Do pranayama on an empty stomach Start with gentle breathing, avoid forceful techniques -Take warm water and light, easy-to-digest food Maintain regular routine to balance Agni —This is temporary and will settle as Vata and Agni become balanced again.

Belching after pranayama and meditation is commonly related to disturbed Vata and weak digestion (Agnimandya) in Ayurveda, especially after restarting practice following a gap. If there is underlying acidity or indigestion, certain breathing techniques may temporarily increase trapped air and upward movement of Vata, leading to repeated burping. This is usually manageable with proper routine and digestion correction. Ayurvedic Guidance Practice yoga and pranayama on an empty stomach or at least 3 hours after meals Start slowly; avoid excessive forceful breathing initially Prefer gentle practices like Anulom Vilom and deep diaphragmatic breathing Avoid overdoing Kapalbhati or Bhastrika until digestion improves Sit calmly for a few minutes after practice instead of standing immediately Dietary Support Avoid overeating, tea/coffee excess, carbonated drinks, and very spicy or fried foods Take warm water in small sips during the day Include light, easily digestible meals Ginger, cumin, fennel, and ajwain in moderation may help improve digestion
