I have to ask for my mother- Age- 59 years Problem-she has been diagnosed with Pancreatitis (between stage 1 and 2), Amylase leve rose to 850 and lipase to 1020 and she was hospitalised. After 2 days of treatment, amylase level came to 150 and lipase levels also improved. Her condition is improving Tests- Ultrasound showed no Gall stones, just fatty liver grade 1 was there History- She has borderline Hba1c (5.7), triglycerides were high. My question is what can be causes of Pancreatitis in this case and what can be supportive ayurveda treatment and when that can be started

Your mother’s improvement in amylase and lipase levels is a positive sign. In cases like hers, where there are no gallstones or alcohol history, pancreatitis can sometimes be associated with high triglycerides, fatty liver, borderline insulin resistance (HbA1c 5.7), metabolic imbalance, sudden dietary changes, digestive inflammation, or certain medicines/infections. In Ayurveda, this condition is often viewed as aggravation of Pitta with disturbed Agni (digestive fire) affecting the liver-pancreatic system, along with Ama (metabolic toxins) accumulation. Ayurvedic Support (Only After Acute Phase Stabilizes) Ayurveda should be started only after the acute pain, vomiting, and enzyme levels stabilize. Supportive Ayurvedic approach may include: Light, low-fat, easy-to-digest diet Small frequent meals instead of heavy meals Avoid fried food, excess oil, sugar, bakery items, red meat, and processed food Warm water in small amounts through the day Proper rest and stress reduction Commonly Used Ayurvedic Supportive Herbs Depending on her condition and digestion: Guduchi (Giloy) – supports inflammation control and metabolism Amalaki – gentle antioxidant and Pitta balancing Kutki – traditionally used for liver support (only under supervision) Aloe vera pulp (small supervised dose) in selected patients Important Precautions Do not start strong detox, fasting, heavy herbs, or oily Ayurvedic medicines immediately after pancreatitis. Avoid self-medication with multiple supplements. Continue regular monitoring of lipase, amylase, triglycerides, liver function, and blood sugar.
