What doshas are imbalanced in my body with visham agni and ama formation? - #54982
Pls tell which of my doshas r imbalanced? So i consulted many dr here on this platform about my problem they said i have visham agni with vata - pitta imbalance & ama formation. My symptoms- combination skin, shapeless motion, variable appetite & bowel movement, dizziness sometimes, fatigue, body aches. Dr advised to have chitrakadi vati before meals but after taking it hunger sensation vanishes & i start feeling weak so i get to know that i am hungry & then if i eat something i get heaviness. Similarly lavan bhaskar & salt based meds also suppresses my hunger sensation. But panchkol reduces heaviness, bloating, & improves digestion although it is also hot. WHY? Both chitrakadi vati & panchkol r hot but chitrakadi increases digestion problems & panchkol improves it Pls tell which of dosha r imbalanced. Why
Doctors' responses
Your symptoms are Vata imbalance + Visham Agni Mild Pitta sensitivity Ama formation Chitrakadi Vati is stronger and more drying, so it may suppress hunger and cause weakness in Vata-Pitta people. Panchkol reduces gas, bloating, and Ama more gently, so you feel lighter and digestion improves. Dose Panchkol churna 1–2 gm before meals with warm water Avoid excess spicy, salty, cold foods and long fasting.
Your symptoms mainly indicate a Vata-dominant imbalance with Ama formation, along with mild Pitta aggravation. This is commonly seen in people who previously did fasting, irregular eating, stress, or overthinking for a long period. In Ayurveda, Visham Agni itself is mainly related to aggravated Vata dosha. When Vata disturbs digestion, the digestive fire becomes irregular — sometimes strong, sometimes weak — leading to incomplete digestion and formation of Ama (toxins/metabolic waste). Your symptoms match this pattern very well: • Vata imbalance → variable appetite, irregular bowel movement, shapeless stools, dizziness, weakness, body aches, bloating • Ama formation → heaviness after eating, fatigue, sluggish digestion • Mild Pitta involvement → sensitivity to strong heating medicines and digestive irritation Why Chitrakadi Vati worsens but Panchkol helps: Although both medicines are “hot” in nature, their actions are different. Chitrakadi Vati is very strong, sharp (Tikshna) and intensely stimulates Agni. In a sensitive Vata-type digestion, this excessive stimulation can disturb natural hunger signals and create dryness internally. That is why you feel: hunger sensation disappears weakness increases heaviness occurs after eating Similarly, salt-based medicines like Lavan Bhaskar can aggravate sensitive Pitta-Vata conditions in some individuals and may disturb appetite regulation. Panchkol works differently. It mainly removes gas, stagnation, and Ama from the digestive channels without overstimulating as aggressively. That is why it helps in: reducing bloating relieving heaviness improving digestion naturally improving movement of Vata in the gut So, your body is showing that you need: gentle Vata-balancing digestion support Ama-clearing medicines not very strong or overly sharp digestive stimulants Your condition appears closer to: Vata-predominant Visham Agni with Ama and mild reactive Pitta involvement. Helpful lifestyle support: Eat warm, freshly cooked meals at fixed timings Avoid fasting and long gaps between meals Avoid very spicy, dry, packaged, or cold foods Prefer simple foods like moong khichdi, jeera, hing, ginger in small amounts Sleep properly and reduce mental stress/overthinking
