For a 12-year-old child with chronic constipation, giving half tablet of Kayam occasionally may help for temporary relief, but it should not be used regularly especially in children with autism. Hello dear, Don’t give such strong purgative on daily basis, it may cause abdominal pain, weakness or may lead to even diarrhoea. Rather focus on diet and lifestyle changes. Give warm, freshly prepared, home based meal. Try to give 1-2 spoon/day of pure a2 cow ghee in diet. Give sufficient water. avoid chilled refrigerated water or cold drinks. Give one fruit at a time -1-2 fruit per day. Avoid packed foods, chips, maida, biscuits, chocolate etc. Avoid late night dinner. Motivate him to do some yoga poses which helps in constipation in morning. All these tips or remedy will help him with over all health including autism. Don’t give any random medicine or supplements. And also check for warm infestation or which cause anemia as a side effect
