Food coming through the nose while eating with swallowing difficulty, voice change, and choking is a red flag symptom. It usually suggests a problem with the swallowing mechanism (palate/throat/nerve or esophagus coordination). Possible causes include: Palatal weakness or nerve dysfunction Neurological issues affecting swallowing Severe throat or esophageal inflammation This needs urgent ENT evaluation + possibly a swallowing test (endoscopy or barium swallow). Until then: Eat only soft, semi-solid food Take very small bites, eat slowly Avoid liquids while actively chewing Sit upright while eating Do NOT ignore this or treat only at home—because aspiration (food going into airway) can cause lung infection. Please consult an ENT specialist as soon as possible. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
