••Ohk…thanx for the replay ••Let’s break down your prescription, address your concerns about the Bhasmas, and look at the best approach for your loss of appetite and constipation. 1. Safety of Shoolwarini Vati & Kamdudha Ras •The short answer is yes, they are safe when prescribed by a qualified Ayurvedic doctor for a specific duration, but the context of how and when you take them matters deeply. •Shoolwarini Vati & Lauh Bhasma •Why it’s prescribed: Even though you don’t have acute stomach pain right now, Shoolwarini Vati is highly effective at correcting Agnimandya (low digestive fire) and clearing Aama (undigested toxic sludge), which is likely causing your severe loss of appetite and constipation. •The Lauh Bhasma concern: Standard commercial iron supplements are notorious for causing gastric irritation and constipation. However, Ayurveda uses Lauh Bhasma—iron that has undergone rigorous Shodhana (purification) and Marana (incineration) processes, turning it into a nano-particle form. It is vastly gentler on the stomach. ••Clinical Caution: Because your gastric mucosa was previously eroded, monitor how you feel. If you experience any burning sensation or localized discomfort after taking it, mention it to your doctor. It is best taken strictly after meals to protect the stomach lining. ••Kamdudha Ras & Pearl/Mineral Bhasmas Why it’s safe: You can take this with absolute peace of mind. Kamdudha Ras (especially the Moti Yukta or pearl variant) is actually the gold standard in Ayurveda for healing erosive gastritis. •How it works: It acts as a natural, highly potent antacid and mucosal protective agent. It soothes the inflamed lining of the stomach (Pitta shamaka), promotes tissue healing, and ensures that the sharper, warming herbs in your prescription (like Chitrakadi Vati) do not aggravate your stomach. 2. Managing the Constipation: Bael vs. Isabgol vs. Abhayarishta ••Your prescription already contains Abhayarishta, which is a fermented liquid preparation primarily featuring Haritaki (Chebulic myrobalan). It is an excellent Anulomana (mild laxative that channels body wastes downward) and is great for chronic constipation without causing dependency. Regarding your question about adding Bael powder and Isabgol (Psyllium husk): ••Bael Powder: Bael is traditionally Grahi (binding/absorbent). While it is fantastic for chronic IBS or loose stools, whole Bael powder can sometimes worsen dry, hard constipation if not used correctly. ••Isabgol: Isabgol is a bulk-forming laxative. If your digestive fire (Agni) is already very weak (hence the loss of appetite), loading up on heavy, sticky mucilage like Isabgol can sometimes overwhelm your stomach, leading to bloating and a further drop in appetite. •••A Better Alternative for Constipation & Gastritis Instead of Isabgol or Bael, a much safer, time-tested Ayurvedic approach for post-gastritis constipation is Mridu Rechana (gentle laxative) combined with mucosal healing: ••Warm Milk/Water with Cow’s Ghee (Goghruta): Taking 1–2 teaspoons of pure cow’s ghee in a cup of warm milk (or warm water if you are lactose intolerant) at bedtime. Ghee heals the eroded gastric mucosa, pacifies Vata, and naturally softens the stool. ••Optimizing Your Current Routine To get your appetite back and fix the constipation, your current medicines need the right environment to work. ••The Timeline Matter: Take Chitrakadi Vati and Aampachak Syrup strictly before meals to stimulate your digestive juices. Take Shoolwarini Vati, Kamdudha, and Avipatikar Churn after meals. ••Dietary Hydration: Since you recently cleared an H. pylori infection, avoid drinking large amounts of cold water. Instead, sip on lukewarm water throughout the day. It stimulates peristalsis (bowel movement) and kindles digestion. ••Manda / Peya (Rice Gruel): For the loss of appetite, try replacing a heavy breakfast with a thin, warm rice gruel seasoned with a tiny pinch of dry ginger (Sunthi) and cumin (Jeera). This gives your stomach a break while actively healing the lining.
Thank you sir, I really appreciate your help 🙏
