1. Mukta Vati – 1 tablet twice daily
2. Triphala + Arjuna Powder – 1/2 teaspoon with lukewarm water at bedtime

We can taper down the allopathic medicine dose, but only after closely monitoring the blood pressure over time.

Managing high blood pressure, especially when it’s been a part of your life for so long, can be quite the journey. To address your question directly, Ayurveda focuses not strictly on medication in the Western sense, but rather on balancing the body through a holistic approach. While there is no single “tablet” or remedy, Ayurveda aims to address root imbalances that contribute to high blood pressure.

Firstly, understanding your unique prakriti (constitution) and the doshas involved—Vata, Pitta, Kapha—is essential. Hypertension often involves an imbalance in the Pitta and Vata doshas. A qualified Ayurvedic practitioner could help tailor suggestions specific to your needs, but generally, here are some things to consider:

1. Diet: Focus on a Pitta and Vata pacifying diet. That means including cooling, hydrating foods. Limit spicy, oily, and excessively salty foods as they aggravate Pitta. Whole grains like barley, rice and oats, fresh veggies, and juicy fruits are beneficial. Consider reducing your caffeine and alcohol intake.

2. Lifestyle: Stress management is crucial as stress can elevate BP. Incorporating practices like yoga, pranayama, and meditation can have profound effects. Just 10-15 minutes of these daily can make a difference. Also, ensure you’re getting enough restful sleep as it aids in balancing hormones.

3. Herbal Remedies: Herbs like Arjuna, Ashwagandha, and Brahmi are often recommended in Ayurveda for supporting heart health and reducing stress. But remember, any remedies should be used under guidance of a professional.

4. Daily Routine: Establishing a regular daily schedule aids balance. Consistent meal times, sleeping and waking up early help maintain harmony.

5. Weight Management: Maintain a healthy weight as excess weight can contribute to high blood pressure. Light to moderate exercise like walking or swimming is advised, but ensure it’s something you enjoy.

While these suggestions provide a general guideline, it’s important to work closely with healthcare providers for both regular BP monitoring and Ayurvedic guidance. As you’ve experienced fluctuations, continual observation and adjustment are key, and you might need to integrate these practices for a considerable period to notice sustained changes. Remember, Ayurveda is about gradual, supportive adjustments rather than immediate fixes.

Lastly, don’t discontinue any prescribed medication without consulting your doctor, as some cases may require lifelong management. Regular check-ups with your physician is essential to monitor the condition and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
