Pain around the optic nerve near the eye sockets can be quite discomforting, and it sounds like you’re experiencing some photosensitivity too. In Ayurveda, this may be linked to an imbalance in the Pitta dosha since it’s associated with vision and the eyes itself. Bright lights and screens can aggravate this imbalance, causing the symptoms you’re experiencing.

Firstly, let’s consider some practical lifestyle and dietary changes. Try to reduce your exposure to very bright lights whenever possible. You might want to dim your screens slightly or use a blue light filter, especially during the evening hours. Make sure your workspace or environment isn’t too harshly lit.

In diet, consider incorporating more cooling and Pitta-pacifying foods. Think along the lines of cucumbers, melons, coconut water, and leafy greens. These can help balance the heat associated with Pitta. Spicy and overly salty foods might aggrevate these symptoms, so you might wanna steer clear of those for now.

Triphala is a classic Ayurvedic blend known for its benefits for eye health. You can take it internally, about half teaspoon mixed with warm water before bed. This aids digestion too, which is often a root cause in Ayurvedic treatments.

Gently massaging your eyes and the surrounding area might also provide relief. Use a bit of warm clarified butter (ghee) or coconut oil and gently massage around the eyesocket. This may soothe and nourish the area.

Practicing specific yoga exercises like trataka can help, too. It’s a gazing practice which can be soothing but avoid it when you’re experiencing acute pain. Focus instead on deep breathing exercises to help reduce stress overall, which seems to be a trigger for you.

However, if the pain persists, increases, or if you notice changes in vision, it’s crucial to consult with an eye specialist without delay for a thorough check-up. Sometimes the best path forward is a combined approach of allopathy and ayurveda.
