what reason for hair fall - #37505

Savannah

I am really worried about my hair fall lately. It started a few months ago, and at first, I thought it was just stress related to work. But it’s gotten worse, like, I notice hair all over my clothes and even my partner keeps saying he sees clumps in the shower. I feel like I’m losing so much hair. I tried switching shampoos, and I even bought those special oils they say are good, but nothing seems to help. I read online something about "what reason for hair fall" could be, and there’s just so much info out there! I’ve kinda connected it to my eating habits too. Been skiping meals and living on instant noodles ‘cause I’m busy, you know? I’ve also been feeling super tired lately, like more than usual. Are there any specific natural remedies or Ayurvedic tips that can help me? I don’t want to end up totally bald or something, so it kind of freaks me out. I don't have a clue what to do… Is this just about stress, or could there be deeper issues? What should I be looking for? Also, do you think diet really matters that much in what reason for hair fall could be? Any insight would be super appreciated! Thanks a ton!

Hair fall can indeed be distressing, but understanding its root cause is key to finding an effective solution. From an Ayurvedic perspective, hair health is often deeply connected to your overall balance of doshas, particularly Vata and Pitta. Stress, inadequate nutrition, and lifestyle imbalance are common triggers that can disrupt these doshas, leading to increased hair shedding.

Your description of skipping meals and leaning heavily on instant foods suggests a possible imbalance in your diet, which is crucial for nourishing the dhatus (body tissues) including hair. When your diet lacks essential nutrients, it weakens the digestive fire, or agni, hindering your body’s ability to assimilate necessary nourishment. This can lead to hair fall as your body struggles to support non-essential functions like hair growth when it’s not properly nourished.

I recommend focusing on a Sattvic diet to strengthen and nourish your system. It means emphasizing whole, fresh foods like vegetables, fruits, whole grains (such as quinoa or basmati rice), and lentils. Incorporate nuts and seeds, especially almonds and sesame seeds, which are known for their nutrient-rich properties. Try to include iron-rich foods too, like spinach, as this can alleviate fatigue and possibly improve hair health.

Considering natural remedies, Massaging your scalp gently with warm coconut oil or bhringraj oil can help. This practice known as shiro abhyanga, improves circulation to the scalp and nourishes the hair follicles. Doing this 2-3 times a week in the evening before you sleep could show noticeable differences over time. Allow the oil to sit for a few hours or overnight before washing it out.

Furthermore, try to manage stress through Ayurvedic practices like pranayama or yoga. Both these methods can help restore balance to your Vata dosha and promote relaxation.

As for timing, try to create a sustainable routine where you don’t skip meals. Eating at regular intervals can maintain a stable digestive fire (agni), essential for nutrient assimilation. Remember, it’s crucial to maintain consistency with these practices to see improvement in hair health over time. However, if hair fall continues or worsens, consider seeking consultation from a professional Ayurvedic practitioner for a comprehensive evaluation.
