For managing sinusitis, nasal drip, and a chesty cough with phlegm, Ayurveda primarily looks at pacifying the imbalanced doshas, particularly Kapha and Pitta, in this case. Begin with steam inhalation. Boil water with a teaspoon of turmeric and a few drops of eucalyptus oil, inhale for 5-10 minutes daily. Warm saline nasal irrigation also helps to clear nasal passages and soothe sinus membranes.

Diet plays crucial role. Reduce intake of dairy, cold and fried foods which can aggravate Kapha. Favor warm, light meals with spices like ginger, black pepper, and turmeric; these help balance Kapha and alleviate cough and phlegm. Include plenty of warm fluids, herbal teas like ginger or tulsi tea are excellent choices for reducing phlegm.

For body heat, consider supplementing with herbs. Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) is beneficial for cooling the body. Mix half a teaspoon of Guduchi with warm water, take once daily. Safe practices like Pranayama (breathing exercises) can promote respiratory health and improve circulation. Bhramari Pranayama, known as the humming bee breath, aids in calming nerves alongside improving respiration.

For poor circulation, regularly practicing Abhyanga or self-massage with warm sesame oil, encourages better circulation and improves nerve stimulation. The massage should be done daily, followed by a warm shower.

Due to the complexity of neurological symptoms, it’s essential to monitor this aspect closely. If symptoms are severe, it is important to consult a specialist to investigate underlying neurological issues. Ayurveda can assist in holistic management but do not substitute for medical intervention if required.

For sinusitis with nasal drip and chesty cough with phlegm, consider addressing the kapha imbalance, which often causes mucus and congestion. For the heat you mentioned, complement with remedies to balance excess pitta as well. You can start with steam inhalation using some eucalyptus or neem leaves. Boil these in water, and then inhale the steam for about 10 minutes, twice a day. This helps clear the nasal passages and relieves phlegm in the chest.

Incorporate trikatu churna into your daily routine, which often blends ginger, long pepper, and black pepper, to aid digestion and manage excess kapha. Mix two to three grams with honey, take it after meals to improve your agni and help manage excess mucus. For another option, make a decoction of tulsi (holy basil) leaves, around 10-12 leaves boiled, and drink twice daily. Tulsi is known for its ability to support respiratory health and balance doshas.

For heat reduction, avoid spicy, fried and sour foods; opt for cooling foods like cucumber, coconut water, and buttermilk. For poor circulation, daily apply sesame oil with a pinch of camphor for a few minutes to enhance blood flow. Also, practice yoga or gentle exercise like pranayama, particularly anulom vilom, to improve lung function and support neurological health.

If neurological symptoms worsen or your asthma seems severe, consult a healthcare professional promptly. Ayurveda can support but serious symptoms need timely clinical attention. For now, incorporate these practices gently into your lifestyle for balanced healing.
