Hydration is key, but avoid drinking large amounts during meals to not dilute digestive enzymes which help in breaking down food. Instead, small sips of warm water can be helpful.

Consider practicing Pranayama, specifically Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) to support respiratory function and balance the nervous system. Dedicating 10-15 minutes daily can enhance respiratory efficiency and alleviate shortness of breath.

For further relief from phlegm, a steam inhalation using eucalyptus oil may assist, breaking down mucus deposits which can impede breathing.

Bear in mind, if the shortness of breath worsens or persists, it’s imperative to seek medical advice immediately. An oxygen saturation of 96% typically is fine, but persistent symptoms need professional assessment to exclude other medical conditions.
