डॉक्टरों की प्रतिक्रियाएं

Hello I get why you’re concerned. Dealing with both Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Lichen Planus Pigmentosus (LPP) is tough, and wanting to mix regular meds with Ayurveda is pretty common. You’re not the only one thinking about this.

So, here’s the deal:

Can you mix regular meds and Ayurveda? Yes , but it’s gotta be done right and under docter observations or regular follow up

But Some Ayurvedic medicines can mess with Methotrexate (Folitrax). Certain herbs can mess with your liver, which RA patients already need to keep an eye on. So, just grabbing stuff off the shelf isn’t a good idea. Safety first (seriously important!)

Since you’re on Folitrax (Methotrexate):

Keep getting these checked regularly: LFT (Liver Function Test) CBC (Blood counts) ESR / CRP

AYURVEDIC UNDERSTANDING

Both RA and LPP are: Autoimmune / inflammatory problems Linked to imbalances with Ama, Vata, and Pitta So, treatment should:

Calm out the inflammation, gently detox, and boost immunity without stressing the liver. Ayurvedic helpers that are okay with Folitrax

These are usually safe and gentle:

For RA (pain & swelling)

Guduchi (Giloy) – 500 mg twice a day Shallaki – 400 mg twice a day

For Lichen Planus Pigmentosus

Manjisthadi kashaya tablet 2-0-2 after food blood cleanser Neem capsule 1-0-1 after food – mild anti-inflammatory Aloe vera juice – 20 ml every day These usually don’t mess with methotrexate. Taking care of LPP from the outside

Externally Kumkumadi tailam (at night) Plain aloe vera gel (during the day)

❌Avoid:

Too much sun Strong soaps Using steroid creams for too long What you shouldn’t do

Don’t:

Stop Folitrax all of a sudden Take strong Ayurvedic stuff without telling your doctor Mix different treatments without knowing what you’re doing The best way to do this (the plan)

Keep taking:

Folitrax with your rheumatologist

Add:

Gentle Ayurvedic herbs for your immunity and skin After a couple of months:

If the swelling goes down and your tests look better, your doctor might lower your dose slowly. This is the safest way to mix treatments. Ayurveda for the long haul

Once RA is stable:

Gentle Panchakarma (like mild Virechana or Basti) can be planned with supervision to address the cause of the problem. But not while you’re taking methotrexate. The honest truth

Yeah, you can use both treatments,

But: Regular meds control the problem. Ayurveda helps you heal. Both need to respect each other. If done right, this combo can give you the best results in the long run.

Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

YES YOU CAN TAKE ALLOPATHIC AND AYURVEDIC MEDICINES TOGETHER BUT IT SHOULD BE DONE IN A PLANNED AND SUPERVISED WAY SINCE YOU ARE TAKING FOLITRAX FOR RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO STOP OR MIX MEDICINES RANDOMLY FOLITRAX CONTROLS IMMUNE OVERACTIVITY WHILE AYURVEDA WORKS ON CORRECTING AGNI REDUCING AMA AND BALANCING DOSHAS SO BOTH CAN COMPLEMENT EACH OTHER IF USED PROPERLY WITH A TIME GAP FROM AN AYURVEDIC POINT OF VIEW RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS IS RELATED TO AMA VATA AND LICHEN PLANUS PIGMENTOSUS IS CONNECTED TO RAKTA DUSHTI WITH PITTA INVOLVEMENT SUPPORTIVE AYURVEDIC MEDICINES LIKE GUDUCHI SATVA 500 MG ONCE OR TWICE DAILY AMALAKI CHURNA 3 GRAMS DAILY AND SARIVA OR MANJISTHA CHURNA 2 TO 3 GRAMS DAILY CAN BE USED SAFELY AS THEY HELP IN IMMUNE MODULATION AND BLOOD PURIFICATION WITHOUT INTERFERING WITH FOLITRAX AYURVEDIC MEDICINES SHOULD BE TAKEN WITH A GAP OF AT LEAST 2 TO 3 HOURS FROM ALLOPATHIC MEDICINES REGULAR LIVER FUNCTION TESTS AND CONTINUOUS MONITORING ARE IMPORTANT AND AYURVEDA WORKS BEST AS LONG TERM SUPPORT RATHER THAN INSTANT RELIEF

Yes you can take both ayurvedic and allopathic medicine together, as ayurvedic medicine donot contradict allopathic medicine. But keep a gap of 30 - 40 minutes between both the systems of medicine.

Because you are taking Folitrax (methotrexate) for RA, it is NOT safe to start Ayurvedic medicines with fixed doses on your own. Some Ayurvedic drugs can harm the liver or react with Folitrax.

❌ Do not start oral Ayurvedic medicines on your own ✅ External Ayurvedic applications are safe

Only start ayurveda medicine after qualifyed ayurveda consultant

⚕️ Can Allopathy and Ayurveda Be Taken Together? - Yes, in principle: Many patients use Ayurvedic medicines alongside allopathic drugs. Ayurveda often provides supportive care (rasayana, anti-inflammatory herbs, skin-nourishing formulations).

But caution is essential: - Methotrexate (Folitrax) is a strong immunosuppressant. Some Ayurvedic herbs (like Guduchi, Ashwagandha, Turmeric) also modulate immunity. Combining them without supervision can alter drug metabolism or immune response. - Liver safety: Methotrexate can affect the liver. Certain Ayurvedic bhasmas or strong rasayanas may add stress if not monitored.

🌿 Ayurvedic Supportive Options (General Guidance) For RA (joint pain, stiffness): - Shallaki (Boswellia serrata) – 250–500 mg capsule twice daily. - Ashwagandha Churna – 5 g with warm milk twice daily - Guduchi (Giloy) – 2 g powder or 15–20 ml Guduchyadi Kashaya twice daily

For Lichen Planus Pigmentosus (skin discoloration): - Amla (Amalaki) – 3–5 g daily with honey. - Manjishtha (Rubia cordifolia) – 2 g powder or capsule twice daily. - Neem (Nimba) – 250–500 mg capsule daily. - External: Kumkumadi taila or Nalpamaradi oil for local application.

👉 In short: Yes, Ayurveda and allopathy can be combined, but only with medical supervision to avoid drug interactions and liver stress.

You can take allopathy and ayurvedic medicines together but it must be done carefully and in a coordinated manner Folitrax is an important medicine for controlling rheumatoid arthritis inflammation and it should not be stopped suddenly on your own Ayurveda does not work by opposing allopathy it works by supporting the body correcting digestion immunity and tissue health

In your case rheumatoid arthritis indicates deep seated ama accumulation with vata involvement and immune dysregulation Lichen planus pigmentosus indicates pitta involvement with rakta dhatu and skin pigmentation changes Frequent indigestion and low weight show that agni is weak and nourishment is not reaching the tissues properly

When digestion is weak even good medicines do not work optimally whether allopathy or ayurveda That is why previous ayurvedic treatments may not have shown improvement if digestion and compatibility were not addressed

Ayurvedic medicines can be safely used alongside folitrax but they should be chosen in a way that does not overstimulate immunity or interfere with liver metabolism Timing of medicines spacing between allopathy and ayurveda and gentle formulations are very important

The primary ayurvedic focus for you should be improving digestion reducing ama balancing vata and pitta and slowly supporting skin and joints Once digestion improves weight gain skin response and joint comfort also improve gradually

HELLO,

1) RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS RA is not just joint pain. It Is an auto-immune disease, meaning Your body’s defense system (immunity) has become confused and is attacking your own joints

This causes -pain, swelling, stiffness (especially morning stiffness) -progressive joint damage if not controlled -fatigue and weakness

IN Ayurveda, RA is called amavata

This happens due to -weak digestion -formation of ama (toxic, undigested material) -ama + aggravated Vata Dosha settle. in joints

So RA is a disease of digestive + immunity + joints, not just joints alone

2) LICHEN PLANUS PIGMENTOSUS LPP is a chronic inflammatory skin condition causing -dark brown/ greyish discoloration -mostly on face, neck, folds -usually without itching

WHY. IT HAPPENS -Immune- mediated skin inflammation often associated with -stress -hormona imbalance -autoimmune tendency -long term inflammation

LPP correspond to pitta-raita dushti -excess heat in blood -leads to skin discoloration and chronic pigmentation

IMPORTANT RA and LPP are connected internally by immune imbalance, which is why both are present in the same person

TREATMENT GOALS Because you are already on Folitrax -do not disturb ongoing RA control -protect liver and immunity -use ayurveda as a supportive system -avoid aggressively or toxic mediicnes -focus on correction from root

Ayurveda here is not to replace, but to support and stabilize

INTERNAL MEDICATIONS

1) GUDUCHI PLAIN EXTRACT= 500mg once daily after meals for 12 weeks = balances immunity, reduces inflamamtion, safe when used alone

2) TRIPHALA CHURNA= 1/2 tsp at bedtime with warm water for 3 months =gentle detox, improves digestio, helps skin purification, does not interfere with methotrexate

AVOID THESE -guggulu preparations -arogyavardhini -mahayogaraj guggulu -bhasma-containing medicines -strong immunity boosters

EXTERNAL TREATMENT

FOR LICHEN PLANUS PIGMENTOSUS

1) COOLING APPLICATION -sandalwood powder + rose water -apply thin layer once daily -wash after 20 minutes =reduces pitta, soothes skin, prevents further darkening

2) OIL APPLICATION (night) -Nalpamradi oil (thin layer) =nourishes skin, prevents dryness, improves pigmentation slowly

FOR RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

OIL MASSAGE= DHANWANTARAM TAILA -gentle massage to joints -15-20 min, 4-5 days/week = pacifies vata, reduces stiffness, improves circulation

LIFESTYLE MODIFICATIONS

SLEEP -sleep before 10:30 pm -avoid day sleep

STRESS MANAGEMENT -stress worsens autoimmunity -daily relaxation is mediicne

YOGA -tadasana -bhujangasana -pawanmuktasana -shavasana

AVOID -weight bearing intense yoa -holding poses too long

PRANAYAM -anulom vilom= 10 min -bhramari= 5 rounds

=reduces stress hormones, improvs immune regulation, helps skin and joints

DIET -warm, freshly cooked meals -moong dal, rice, barley -cooked vegetabes bottle gourd, pumpkin -small quantity of turmeric in food

AVOID -fermented foods curd at night, vinegar -pickles, excess sour sfoods -fried, spicy, junk foods -tomato, brinjal -alcohol very important with folitrax

HOME REMEDIES -warm water throughout day -coriande seed water -aloe cera juice externally only

EXPECTATIONS AND DURATION -RA CONTROL-> contrinu allopathy -LPP PIGMENTATION-> slow improvement -No instant cure -Aim îs stability and gradual improvement

You have two chronic immune related condition. The goal is balance, not aggression

-modern medicine controls damage

-Ayurveda corrects internal imbalace

-Diet and lifestyle decide long term outcome

Think of this as long term immune treatment not short term treatment

DO FOLLOW

HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL

THANK YOU
