What is Pandu in Ayurveda, and how is it treated? - #10883
I’ve been learning about Ayurvedic concepts and came across the term Pandu. What is Pandu in Ayurveda, and how is it treated effectively? Pandu in Ayurveda is equivalent to anemia in modern medicine. It is caused by poor absorption of nutrients and an imbalance in the pitta dosha, leading to symptoms like fatigue, pale skin, and weakness. One of the primary treatments for Pandu is Lauha Bhasma, an iron-rich Ayurvedic formulation that helps increase hemoglobin levels. How effective is Lauha Bhasma, and are there specific dosages to follow? Another popular remedy is Punarnava Mandur, which supports blood purification and improves energy levels. Is it safe for long-term use, and does it work better when combined with other herbs? Ayurveda also recommends dietary changes to address Pandu, such as consuming pomegranate juice, dates, and green leafy vegetables. Are there specific meal plans or combinations that enhance nutrient absorption and improve hemoglobin levels? In addition to medicines and diet, Ayurvedic practices like Abhyanga (oil massage) and yoga are said to improve circulation and energy. Are there specific yoga poses or oils that are particularly beneficial for treating anemia? If anyone has used Ayurvedic treatments for Pandu, I’d love to hear your experience. Which remedies worked best for you, and how long did it take to see improvements?
