How Long Does COVID Pneumonia Last? - #16362

Anonymously

I was recently diagnosed with COVID pneumonia after testing positive for COVID-19 a couple of weeks ago. The symptoms started off mild—just a cough, sore throat, and mild fever. But soon, I began feeling much worse. I developed shortness of breath and fatigue that made even getting out of bed seem like a huge challenge. My doctor confirmed that it’s COVID pneumonia, and I was told that it could last anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on how my body responds to treatment. Now, I’m trying to understand how long does COVID pneumonia last and if there’s anything I can do to speed up my recovery. I’ve been on the usual medications prescribed, including antibiotics and oxygen therapy, and while I’m starting to feel better, I still struggle with shortness of breath after doing basic activities. I’ve heard that for some people, the recovery from COVID pneumonia can be slow and can cause lasting damage to the lungs, and that’s making me anxious. I’m curious if Ayurvedic medicine can offer any support to help me heal faster or mitigate the effects of the pneumonia. I’ve read a lot about herbal treatments that can help with lung health, and I’m wondering if there are any specific herbs or practices that Ayurveda recommends for someone like me recovering from COVID pneumonia. For example, should I be incorporating herbs like turmeric, ginger, or tulsi to help clear the lungs and fight inflammation? I’ve heard that these are good for respiratory health and may even help with reducing inflammation in the body. I’ve been trying to rest and stay hydrated, but I’m not sure what else I can do. I’ve also been following a more balanced diet with fresh fruits and vegetables, but my energy levels are still quite low. I’d like to know if there are Ayurvedic remedies that specifically focus on strengthening the lungs or boosting my immune system during this recovery phase. I’ve been told that the body may take time to heal, but I’m concerned about the lingering effects of COVID pneumonia. Does Ayurveda have any natural remedies for speeding up the recovery from COVID pneumonia or managing symptoms like shortness of breath, fatigue, or cough? I also read about pranayama (breathing exercises) and yoga being beneficial for lung recovery—are these practices something I should focus on more during my healing process? Additionally, I’d like to know if there are any lifestyle changes or specific habits I can adopt that might help speed up the healing process. I’m already trying to avoid excessive stress and taking things slow, but I’d love to get a more Ayurvedic perspective on the overall recovery process. Does the length of COVID pneumonia depend on individual factors such as age, health status, or existing conditions? How does Ayurveda view this recovery process, and what steps can I take to heal naturally? I appreciate any guidance or advice from anyone who has experienced COVID pneumonia or who is familiar with Ayurvedic treatments for lung health and recovery. What has worked for you, and how can Ayurveda help me through this challenging time?
