Accumulation of fat around hips n’ thighs can sometimes be related to Kapha dosha imbalance. While you are taking sariva and amalaki, incorporating Ayurvedic principles to tackle the specific issue of localized fat accumulation can be beneficial.
Firstly, focus on pacifying Kapha primarily through your diet—go for lighter, dry, and warm foods. Try avoiding heavy, oily, and cold foods. Spices like black pepper, ginger, cinnamon can be beneficial to stimulate the metabolism. Consider adding them into your daily routine, they can be easily included in teas or meals. Increase the intake of seasonal vegetables, especially leafy greens and bitter gourd which help in balancing Kapha.
In terms of activity, make sure your daily routine includes regular physical activity. Integrating exercises, particularly those targeting your lower body - like squats and lunges, may help. Even brisk walking or moderate cardio exercises can support your efforts—aim for at least 30 minutes daily.
Additionally, try medohara guggulu which is known for reducing excess fat tissues. Start with a lower dosage and observe how your body responds. However, ensure you’re consulting with your Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized advice.
Abhyanga (self-massage) with warm sesame oil especially before a bath could aid in reducing fat deposits and improve circulation. Follow it with a warm shower which helps in opening pores aiding fat loss.
Finally, drink warm water through the day as it aids digestion and metabolic processes. If you do notice any digestive discomforts or symptoms, always consult with your practitioner to tailor these suggestions to suit your overall medication plan. The key in Ayurveda is balance, so consider progress at a steady pace for sustainable health benefits.
Fat accumulation around the hips and thighs often relates to an imbalance in the Kapha dosha. In the Siddha-Ayurvedic tradition, this can be addressed through adjustments in diet, lifestyle, and specific remedies.
First, consider dietary modifications. Since you’re already on some medications, balance your meals with warming and light foods to reduce Kapha. Favor grains like barley and millet over wheat, and incorporate spices such as ginger, black pepper, and turmeric to ignite agni, the digestive fire. Minimize heavy, oily, or cold foods - these can exacerbate Kapha imbalances.
For herbal support, try including triphala choornam, which supports metabolic functions and helps in detoxification. Consume a teaspoon with warm water before bedtime. This can support the other medications you’re taking without interfering.
Incorporate daily physical activity. Exercise is vital to balance the Kapha dosha. Consider practices like brisk walking, yoga, and especially poses like the Sun Salutation, which target the hips and thighs. Thirty minutes a day can be a good start.
Abhyanga, a traditional oil massage using sesame oil, might help by stimulating circulation and aiding in the reduction of cellulite. Warm the oil slightly before massaging it into your skin, focusing more on your lower body.
If you notice that these adjustments aren’t bringing the desired results, or if you experience anything unusual, consult a qualified healthcare provider. Keep consistency in your approach, balancing Kapha takes time and steadiness.
