gastric problem symptoms - #17602

Anonymously

For the last few months, my digestion has been completely messed up. Almost every day, I wake up feeling bloated, even if I had a light dinner the night before. By afternoon, I get this weird burning sensation in my stomach, and sometimes, it even moves up to my chest like acid reflux. I thought it was just occasional acidity, but now it’s becoming more frequent. Apart from that, I’ve noticed other gastric problem symptoms too. I feel like I burp excessively, especially after meals, and sometimes there’s a sour taste in my mouth. On some days, I experience stomach cramps that come and go, and I can’t figure out what’s triggering them. My bowel movements are also unpredictable—some days I feel constipated, and other days I have loose stools. It’s getting really frustrating because I don’t know what’s wrong. I went to a doctor, and they told me it could be GERD or some other gastric issue. They gave me antacids, but I don’t want to keep taking them forever. That’s why I started looking into Ayurveda. Can Ayurveda help with gastric problem symptoms? Are there specific herbs or treatments that actually work for this? I read about Triphala and Ajwain for digestion, but I’m not sure if they help with bloating and acid reflux too. Also, I feel like stress is making my gastric problem symptoms worse. I’ve been dealing with a lot of work pressure, and my sleep schedule is all over the place. Could that be causing this? Does Ayurveda have remedies for both digestion and stress? And what kind of foods should I avoid or eat more of to balance my digestion naturally? If anyone has had similar gastric problem symptoms and tried Ayurveda, what worked for you? Did you notice long-term relief? I really want to fix this naturally before it turns into something more serious. Any advice would be really helpful.

Your symptoms indicate an imbalance in Pitta and Vata doshas, leading to acidity, bloating, and irregular digestion. Ayurveda offers a holistic approach to restore balance naturally. Herbs like Triphala help regulate bowel movements, while Ajwain and Jeera water aid digestion and reduce bloating. Yashtimadhu (licorice) and Amla soothe acidity and heal the stomach lining. Drinking warm water with a pinch of rock salt before meals can improve digestion, while avoiding spicy, oily, and processed foods can prevent further irritation. Stress and irregular sleep can worsen digestive issues, so practicing deep breathing (Anulom Vilom) and drinking Brahmi tea can help calm the mind and improve gut health. Yoga asanas like Pavanamuktasana and Vajrasana after meals support digestion. Ayurveda works gradually but effectively, and with consistent lifestyle changes, you should notice improvement in a few weeks.
