Consultation request regarding hair loss, pimples, dark spots, and low hemoglobin (8 gm): seeking guidance on possible causes, treatment - #27601
I am reaching out for advice regarding multiple health concerns. I have been experiencing hair loss, frequent pimples, and dark or black spots on my face. My recent blood test showed that my hemoglobin level is 8 gm, which I understand is quite low. Along with this, I often feel weakness and fatigue. Additionally, I have knee pain for which I am currently taking Artilon capsules, and I also consume Ashwagandharishta daily. I am not sure if these medications or any nutritional deficiencies could be linked to my hair, skin, or low hemoglobin also i have always gas in my stomach i am 19 years old

Your described symptoms of hair loss, pimples, dark spots, and fatigue, along with low hemoglobin, surely suggests a vata and pitta imbalance. Low hemoglobin, or anemia, relates to a possible depletion of rakta dhatu (blood tissue), which can impact skin and hair health. To address this without delay, monitoring your diet and lifestyle is crucial.
Begin with your diet. Consume iron-rich foods like spinach, beetroot, raisins, and jaggery. Golden raisins soaked overnight in water are beneficial. Cook food in iron utensils to increase iron content. Vitamin C-rich foods like amla and citrus fruits will improve iron absorption. Avoid excessive tea or coffee consumption as they interfere with iron uptake.
For your skin, consider using Kumkumadi taila as a topical remedy for dark spots. Make a paste of sandalwood powder and rose water, applying it as a face pack to help acne, but consult a dermatologist if needed. Avoid spicy and oily foods that could aggravate pitta, leading to acne.
Your knee pain might benefit from Mahanarayan Taila massage, supporting joint health and countering Vata dosha. However, always consult an orthopedic specialist for significant concerns. Artilon capsule’s ingredients might inform your physician about their suitability for your condition.
Ashwagandharishta helps with stress and fatigue. Yet, with consistent gas issues, consider a vata-friendly diet: cook meals properly, avoid gas-forming foods like beans and cabbage, and eat smaller meals more frequently. Triphala churna taken at bedtime may aid digestion and detoxification.
Incorporate Pranayama and gentle yoga to help balance vata and relieve stress, like Anulom Vilom and Vajrasana, especially after meals for digestion.
Listen to your body, avoid self-medication, and undertake regular health assessments with your healthcare provider. If hemoglobin remains critically low, prioritize medical intervention.
Your symptoms suggest an imbalance possibly related to both vata and pitta doshas. The hair loss, pimples, and dark spots could be a reflection of increased pitta, often aggravated by stress, improper diet, or environmental toxins. Low hemoglobin and fatigue likely indicate a deeper vata imbalance affecting your body’s ability to nourish its tissues, especially Rakta Dhatu (blood tissue).
Begin by addressing your hemoglobin levels. Increase consumption of iron-rich and easily digestible foods. Include leafy greens like spinach, drumstick leaves, and beetroot. Vitally, also ensure sufficient bioavailable Vitamin C intake from sources like amla, to enhance iron absorption. A simple home remedy would be to soak a few raisins overnight and consume them in the morning with water.
Your digestive issues or “ama” (toxins) contribute significantly to your symptoms. Firstly, avoid spicy, oily, and stale foods which aggravate pitta. Stick to a regular meal schedule and focus on warm, cooked meals. Sip on warm water throughout the day to aid digestion. Add a pinch of hing (asafoetida) or small amounts of ginger in your meals to balance vata and support digestion.
With your ongoing supplements, Artilon may contribute to minor digestive disturbances. Monitor any changes post-consumption and adjust with a proper diet. Ashwagandharishta is strengthening but ensure it suits your body constitution with consultation, as it can sometimes increase pitta.
For topical care, gentle natural applications like sandalwood paste for pimples may help. Avoid harsh chemicals which can exacerbate skin issues. Regular mild cleansing is important.
If symptoms persist or worsen, consider a detailed consultation with a professional for a holistic assessment and tailored treatment. Immediate medical advice would be wise if symptoms become severe or troubling; your health is the priority.
