Namaste, Difficulty in reading, writing, and seeing small objects can occur in conditions like Stargardt’s disease or Retinitis Pigmentosa, which affect the retina of the eye. These conditions often require regular monitoring by an eye specialist to understand the exact diagnosis and progression. Ayurveda may sometimes help support eye nourishment and overall eye health, but it is important to continue follow-up with an ophthalmologist for proper evaluation. Simple measures that may help support eye health: Avoid excessive screen exposure and give regular rest to the eyes. Ensure proper lighting while reading or working. Include foods rich in vitamin A and antioxidants such as carrots, leafy greens, and fruits. Practice gentle eye relaxation practices and maintain good sleep and stress management. Ayurvedic medicines sometimes used to support eye health include: Triphala Ghrita – traditionally used in Ayurveda to support eye nourishment. Saptamrit Lauh – sometimes used to support eye health and vision. Consult me for more advice and suggestions on the above medicines.

Hello I can understand it is veru distressing when you are not able to find the correct diagnosis You have mentioned that your doctor has suspected Stargardt disease While others think it to be as Retinitis pigmentosa Both of this affects Retina Which is light sensitive layer responsible for vision Common symptoms may include -Difficulty in reading -Reduced central vision -Blurred vision These requires usually specialized retinal evaluation to confirm the diagnosis Since opinions have varied it would be helpful to undergo detailed retinal investigations AYURVEDIC UNDERSTANDING In Ayurveda progressive vision problem are often related to drishti mandya or timira The aim of treatment is to -Nourish the optic tissue -Improve circulation to the eyes -Supports nervous system The main focus should be on slow progression and supporting vision AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT INTERNAL MEDICATION 1.Sapthamrutham loha 1 tablet twice daily after food 2.Triphala ghrita 1 tsp at bed time You should visit nearby AYURVEDIC ENT SPECALIST for set of PANCHAKARMA therapies and also for physical examination DIET FOR EYE Include -Carrots -Amla -spinach -Almonds AVOID -Excess processed food -Excess screen time -Very late night sleep LIFESTYLE TIPS -Take regular breaks from screens -practice gentle eye relaxation -Maintain good sleep routine -Protect eyes from very bright sunscreen As retinal conditions can progress overtime it is very important to continue follow up with retinal specialist Wishing you a good health😊 Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate
