Doctors' responses

When meningitis occurs at 6 months of age and later causes loss of peripheral vision, it usually means: Optic nerve inflammation happened during infection Some nerve fibers got permanently damaged Optic atrophy may have developed 👉 If nerve fibers are completely destroyed, they cannot regenerate — neither by modern medicine nor by Ayurveda. The optic nerve is part of the brain (central nervous system), and currently there is no proven therapy that can fully regrow dead optic nerve fibers. What Ayurveda can help with Ayurveda may help in: ✔ Improving blood circulation to remaining nerve fibers ✔ Supporting surviving optic nerve cells ✔ Slowing further degeneration ✔ Improving eye nourishment ✔ Improving overall neurological strength But it is supportive, not curative in complete atrophy. Important Question Has the doctor diagnosed optic atrophy? If yes: Peripheral vision loss usually does not reverse. Some improvement is possible only if damage is partial. Supportive Ayurvedic Therapies 🌼 Netra Tarpana Nourishes ocular tissues Uses medicated ghrita Helpful in mild optic neuropathy cases 🌼 Shirodhara Calms nervous system Improves cerebral circulation Useful in post-inflammatory neurological cases 🌿 Internal Medicines (only under supervision) Mahatriphala Ghrita Saptamrita Lauha Brahmi Yashtimadhu Ashwagandha ⚠️ In children, dosage must be carefully calculated.
