Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
The sticky discharge from your eyes and the constant blinking can be understood through the lens of Ayurveda as an imbalance of the Kapha dosha. Kapha is associated with qualities like heaviness, oiliness, and stickiness, which can manifest as excess mucus or discharge in the body. When Kapha becomes aggravated, it can lead to the production of sticky secretions, such as the discharge you’re experiencing.
The irritation and constant blinking may also be influenced by Vata dosha. Vata governs movement and dryness, and when out of balance, it can cause nervousness or twitching, which might explain the need to blink frequently.
Ayurveda views these symptoms as part of a systemic imbalance rather than isolated issues. Your body’s internal balance, digestion, and lifestyle habits all play a role in maintaining eye health. Factors such as diet, exposure to allergens, and stress can contribute to these imbalances.
To give doctors a precise and effective treatment plan, your answers to the questions below are essential. Without this information, the recommendations will be more general and less accurate.
Please answer each question as clearly as possible.
1. How long have you been experiencing the sticky discharge? Please specify if it’s less than a week, 1-4 weeks, 1-6 months, or more than 6 months. 2. What color is the discharge from your eyes? Is it clear, white, yellow/green, or another color? 3. Do you have any other symptoms along with the discharge, such as itching, redness, swelling around the eyes, or sensitivity to light? 4. Have you noticed any specific triggers for the discharge, such as exposure to dust, allergens, certain foods, or contact lenses? 5. How would you describe your overall eye health? Do you experience occasional dryness, frequent infections, allergies, or have any chronic conditions? 6. Have you tried any treatments or remedies for this condition before, such as over-the-counter eye drops, home remedies, or prescription medications? 7. Do you wear contact lenses or glasses, and if so, how frequently?
Your detailed responses will help in crafting a more tailored approach to address your symptoms effectively.

●Morning Eye Cleansing Method As soon as you wake up, fill your mouth with as much water as possible, and with the same freshness, gently splash another cup of clean water on your eyes about 20 times. This simple action awakens the optic nerve, removes the fatigue of the night, and fills the eyes with natural brightness.Eye-Cleansing After Meals Make it a daily practice to splash water on your eyes at least seven times after every meal while washing your hands and face. This practice cools the retina, removes the subtle effects of pollution, and provides long-term vision cleansing.Foot Service, Eye Protection After bathing, gently massage your feet, especially your toes. Ayurveda believes that the feet have a deep connection with the eyes. The person who performs foot service naturally receives vision protection. ●Anjana-Materials Required: Cotton wool, almonds, pure ghee, a lamp, and an earthen pot. 1. Take a cotton wool ball. 2. Fill it with finely ground almonds. 3. Shape the wick. 4. Soak the wick in pure ghee.Light the wick in the lamp. 2. Place an upside-down clay pot on top. 3. Leave a small opening for ventilation. 4. A black layer will form inside the pot. This layer is pure kajal (anjan). Carefully remove the collected kajal. • Add a little pure ghee to it. • Stir lightly. It is now ready for use. ●Netra jyoti-This traditional combination of almonds, sugar candy and fennel is known to deeply nourish the eyes while calming the body. When taken regularly with milk at night, it can gradually help reduce eye fatigue and stabilize vision.
