How long should a shower take? - #17713
I’ve been wondering about this for a while now because my shower routine is all over the place. Some days, I’m in and out in like 5 minutes, and other days, I stand under the water for 20-30 minutes, just relaxing. But now I’m thinking—is there actually an ideal time? How long should a shower take according to Ayurveda? Lately, I’ve noticed that if I take a really long shower, I feel kind of drained afterward. My skin also gets dry and tight, especially if I use hot water. But if I rush my shower, I don’t feel as refreshed. Also, I’ve been getting random body aches when I stand too long in the shower, like my legs feel heavier. Could that be because I’m overdoing it? I also read somewhere that in Ayurveda, the length of a shower matters because it affects body temperature and energy balance. Some say that spending too much time in water can actually weaken the body’s natural strength. But then others say longer showers can be good for relaxation. So what’s the right balance? So I need to know—how long should a shower take to be healthy? Does it depend on body type or time of day? And if I feel tired after showering, does that mean I’m doing something wrong? Also, does the temperature of the water change how long a shower should be? I just wanna make sure I’m not ruining my skin or draining my energy with my shower routine.
