Cauliflower Ear - #18534

Anonymously

A few months ago, I started noticing that my left ear was becoming swollen, tender, and slightly deformed after a minor sports injury. At first, I thought it was just temporary bruising, but over time, the swelling hardened, and my ear began looking different from before. I recently read that this condition is called cauliflower ear, and it happens when blood collects under the skin due to repeated trauma, causing permanent deformity. I am really self-conscious about how my ear looks now, and I also experience occasional pain, stiffness, and a slight hearing reduction on that side. The doctor told me that there’s no way to completely reverse it, but I want to know if Ayurveda offers any natural treatments to reduce swelling, improve circulation, and restore ear health. I have also noticed that my ear feels sensitive to touch, and the skin over it seems thicker and rougher than before. Could my poor circulation or excess Pitta energy be contributing to the long-term swelling? Does Ayurveda classify cauliflower ear as a Pitta or Vata imbalance, and what are the best natural ways to reduce inflammation and support tissue healing? I have read that Turmeric, Castor Oil, and Nirgundi (Vitex negundo) are beneficial for reducing inflammation, promoting tissue repair, and improving blood circulation—would these help in naturally treating cauliflower ear? Are there any Ayurvedic herbal oils, massage techniques, or dietary changes that can help in preventing further damage and improving ear health? Since I prefer natural remedies for physical recovery, I am looking for Ayurvedic treatments that can reduce swelling, restore circulation, and support ear healing naturally. Please provide detailed Ayurvedic insights on cauliflower ear, its causes, and Ayurvedic approaches to ear health.
