SNA Khadiraarishtam - #27919
I am really struggling with some digestion issues and a bit of anxiety lately, and a friend suggested I try SNA Khadiraarishtam. I mean, I’ve heard about it being good for like, a lot of things, right? A few weeks ago, I had this stomach ache that wouldn’t go away, and after some home remedies didn’t work, I went to the doc. They said I might have some sort of imbalance, like maybe pitta was too high or something. They mentioned trying SNA Khadiraarishtam but honestly, I wasn’t convinced. So, here’s the thing—I started taking some but then I got worried when I googled it and saw mixed reviews. Some folks say it helps with digestion and feels good but others talk about dizziness? I was just wondering if it’s normal to feel more anxious after starting it, or like, if the side effects are really common? I tend to feel bloated on and off, and I don’t know if it’s tied to the SNA Khadiraarishtam or just something else. Should I give it more time? I dunno if I should change the dose or maybe even look for something else entirely? Any advice would be super helpful, thanks!

Doctors’ responses
hello Charles,
You’re experiencing bloating, mild stomach discomfort, and some anxiety, which are often linked to digestive imbalance. In Ayurveda, this is usually due to Ama (undigested toxins) and Pitta-Vata imbalance. SNA Khadiraarishtam is a classical Ayurvedic preparation that helps improve digestion, reduce bloating, and balance Pitta and Vata, while also mildly supporting the nervous system. Feeling slight dizziness or temporary anxiety after starting it is uncommon but can happen if your stomach is very sensitive or if the dosage is higher than what your body can handle. It’s important to follow a gentle, consistent approach along with mindful eating, proper meal timing, and avoiding very spicy or oily foods.
SNA Khadiraarishtam: 2 tsp (10 ml) twice daily after meals, diluted in equal warm water. Optional: Chitrakadi Vati 1 tab twice daily before meals for 7–10 days if bloating is significant. Investigations (if needed): Complete blood count (CBC) to rule out infection. Liver function tests if bloating persists or yellowing appears. Stool routine if irregular bowel habits continue.
Diet & Lifestyle: Eat small, frequent meals; avoid very heavy, fried, or processed foods. Include ginger, cumin, coriander, and fennel in meals to aid digestion. Warm water between meals, avoid cold drinks during meals. Gentle breathing exercises (like deep diaphragmatic breathing) to reduce anxiety.
Take SNA Khadiraarishtam consistently for at least 3–4 weeks before judging effects. If dizziness or discomfort continues, reduce the dose to 5 ml twice daily and consult. Monitor bowel habits, appetite, and anxiety levels weekly. Regular follow-up after 3–4 weeks to assess improvement and adjust plan.
Warm regards, Dr. Karthika
