Dealing with anxiety, depression, and insomnia is tough. I’m sorry you’re going through that. In Ayurveda, we see these issues often linked to imbalances in Vata dosha, which governs mind and body’s movement, and can disturb mental peace and sleep if out of whack. While modern meds do their job, an Ayurvedic approach looks at root causes, offering some holistic tools to tide you over these tough times.

First off, let’s talk a little about your lifestyle. Are you sticking to a regular sleep schedule? Hit the hay and rise around the same time every day to set your inner clock. It’s not about perfection but consistency helps a lot more than you’d think. Try winding down with some tech-free time before bed. Give your mind a chance to chill.

Diet is huge too. Lean into warm, grounding foods - think stews, soups, and such with spices like cumin and ginger to balance your agni (digestive fire). Cut down on caffeine, sugary stuff, and super-processed foods. They spike your energy and can lead to crashing.

Abhyanga, a fancy word for self-massage, is great for calming Vata. Warm sesame oil works wonders if you’re feeling anxious or have difficulty sleeping. Do it before a shower; apply in circular motions on joints and long strokes on limbs.

Breathwork, or Pranayama, can dial down anxiety. Try Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) a few minutes each day. It’s like a reset button for your nervous system. Kind of neat how small techniques like that work!

But, remember, any sudden change in medication should be done carefully and preferably with your doc’s advice. Combining Ayurveda with your current treatment could be a beneficial avenue.

If you notice any worsening of symptoms, make sure to consult with a healthcare provider. Hang in there, every bit helps, and you’re doing the work by reaching out for solutions.
