In Ayurveda, Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES) can be understood as a Majja Dhatu (nervous system) disorder, primarily caused by aggravated Vata Dosha. The treatment aims to pacify Vata, reduce inflammation, and support nerve regeneration. While Ayurvedic management can provide symptomatic relief and aid recovery post-surgery, it is essential to work alongside conventional treatment in emergencies. Also physical examination of the patient is very important. There are excellent oral and external treatments in Ayurveda but I am afraid to suggest anything without proper analysis.

Dear Sanjeev, I understand the challenges you’re facing with cauda equina syndrome (CES) and its impact on urinary function. While Ayurveda offers supportive therapies aimed at improving quality of life, it’s important to note that CES is a serious neurological condition that typically requires conventional medical interventions. However, certain Ayurvedic approaches may complement your existing treatments: Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) churna - 1/2 tsp with warm milk at night •chandra Prabha vati -1 tab twice daily after food with warm water . Trayodashang guggulu- 1 tab twice daily after food with lukewarm water • Abhyanga (Oil Massage): Regular therapeutic massages with warm medicated oils can help pacify Vata dosha and improve circulation to the affected areas. • Basti (Medicated Enema): Administering herbal enemas may assist in balancing Vata dosha and support lower back and nerve health. (You should contact panchakarma centre) Incorporate warm, nourishing foods that are easy to digest, such as cooked grains, warm milk, and ghee. Avoid cold, dry, and raw foods that may aggravate Vata. • Routine: Establish a daily routine that includes adequate rest, gentle exercises like yoga tailored to your condition, and stress-reducing practices such Regular Consultations: Maintain ongoing communication with your healthcare providers, including both Ayurvedic and allopathic practitioners, to monitor your condition and adjust treatments as necessary.

Ah, that sounds challenging. Cauda equina syndrom is not easy to navigate, I get it. Since you're on CIC for over two years now, it's crucial to keep monitoring and ensuring no infections crop up in the urinary tract. Make sure you're being extra cautious with hygiene, okay? A little negligence can cause bigger issues there. You mentioned your prostate size is 40cc. Now, considering that aspect, you might wanna look into incorporating some dietary adjustments. Pumpkin seeds and saw palmetto are known in Ayurvedic circles to be beneficial for prostate health. Doesn't mean they'll replace medical advice, though! They're just to support the system. When it comes to Ayurveda and your condition, we think in terms of balancing the Vata dosha. It’s responsible for nerves and how messages are transmitted through the body. Meditative practices, gentle yoga specifically targeted to your capability (and of course, considering your post-surgery state) can aid some relief. Backed up with pranayama—it’s gentle breathing exercises, mind you—can be quite connecting and balancing. And hey, let's talk about warmth. Applying warm sesame oil on the lower back area can aid in reducing some Vata aggravation, thereby bringing some comfort. Very lightly, though, and only if it's totally comfortable for you. I think it goes without saying, but keep in touch with your healthcare providers. Regular checkups are a must, especially concerning that 'important' urinary function. And don't try a heavy exercise regimen without approving it with them first; it's crucial for this condition. How does your diet look? Adding ghee into meals (just in moderation) can help pacify Vata too. Plus, it adds flavor! Pay attention to what you're eating; stay away from excessively dry, cold foods. Warm, cooked meals, dishes with spices like ginger and turmeric should help nurture your system. Hope these bits provide some comfort. Always loop back to your doctors for any new symptoms or reactions, alright? They know your situation best.
