Doctors’ responses
Hello Sheshashayanam, I understand your concerns regarding gas, acidity, constipation, and diabetes. Since you’ve been experiencing these issues for the past four years, along with fatty liver, it’s crucial to first review your medical reports and any investigations you’ve had. Could you please share your recent blood sugar levels, liver function tests, and any other relevant health information? Additionally, I would like to know about your daily diet, lifestyle habits, and any stress factors you may be facing.

Oh, I feel you. Dealing with gas, acidity and constipation can be so frustrating, especially when nothing seems to work. Let’s see if we can get you sorted with some Ayurvedic approaches. Since you’re vegetarian and diabetic, we’ll keep that in mind while recommending you…
First, it’s super important to balance your doshas—Vata and Pitta seem like your troublemakers here. For that, focus on calming down these imbalances. Starting with your diet, avoid foods that are too spicy, oily or heavy. These can spike your Pitta and Vata even more. Favor warm, cooked foods—think kichadi or dahl. Keep it simple, nothing complicated. Fresh, seasonal veggies like asparagus and squash can be your friends here.
On to the habits, try sipping warm water throughout the day, maybe adding a bit of ginger to it. Ginger is great for stimulating your agni (digestive fire). Try Triphala powder before bedtime, though get a tiny bit, about half a teaspoon with lukewarm water. It’s traditionally used for constipation and helps in strengthening digestion and cleansing toxins.
And don’t forget the lifestyle bit, it’s the sneaky part. Keep a routine—eat, sleep and wake up at the same time, every day. Move, but gently—daily walks or some yoga, nothing wild, alright? Even few deep breaths can help calm the system.
Since you’re diabetic, do keep a close eye on your blood sugars with these routine changes. Ayurveda’s tweaks can sometimes influence that too. And if symptoms are still tough, reach out for a deeper consult. Remember, it ain’t about finding a quick fix, but slowly getting things back into balance. Patience is key, my friend. If things get worse, always best to check with a doc.
