The symptoms you’re describing, along with your test results, suggest a possible issue with malabsorption. This means that your body might not be absorbing nutrients from the food you eat efficiently. Fat in the stool often indicates that your digestive system, particularly the pancreas or small intestine, isn't working properly to digest food, especially fats. The positive result for leukocytes could suggest inflammation in the digestive tract. From an Ayurvedic perspective, when digestion is compromised, it's referred to as a weak or disturbed "agni" or digestive fire. Balancing agni is crucial for optimal digestion and nutrient absorption. The mild antral gastritis noted in the endoscopy could also point to an imbalance in pitta dosha, which governs the digestive process and can lead to inflammation when aggravated. Firstly, consider integrating a Pitta-pacifying diet - focusing on items that are cooling, soothing and easy to digest. Try eating more fresh fruits like pears and apples, vegetables like cucumbers and zucchini, and consider grains like barley and rice. Avoid spicy, oily, and fried foods. Ghee can be helpful as it promotes digestion and reduces inflammation. In addition, incorporate ginger tea before meals to kindle agni gently, aiding digestion. You can make this by simmering fresh ginger slices in hot water for a few minutes. After meals, a small piece of jaggery can help with digestion and is often recommended in Ayurveda for aiding agni. Engage in regular practices like yoga or gentle walking to help reduce stress and enhance digestive function. Yoga poses like pavanmuktasana (wind-relieving pose) or bhujangasana (cobra pose) can help stimulate digestion. While you're awaiting biopsy results, it's crucial to maintain open communication with your health care provider to understand any medical implications. If further medical intervention is needed, Ayurveda can work in conjunction, rather than as a substitute, to promote holistic well-being. Avoid delaying or deviating from advised medical tests or treatments.
