Reversing short sight naturally is not always a straightforward task, but there are Ayurvedic methods you might consider trying, alongside your existing corrective measures. At the core of Ayurveda, is understanding your dosha balance. Imbalances in Vata, Pitta, and Kapha doshas can influence vision problems.

First, pay attension to your diet, which plays a role in maintaining healthy vision. Incorporate foods rich in Vitamin A, like carrots, spinach, and sweet potatoes, into your meals. They contribute to strengthening the optic nerves. Also, include nuts like almonds and walnuts, which are good for Vata and Pitta dosha balancing. Avoid foods that are excessively spicy, salty, or greasy, as they can exacerbate doshic imbalances and lead to Pitta aggravation.

Daily eye exercises can also help. Palming, is one simple exercise, where you rub your palms together and place them gently over your closed eyes without pressuring them. Do this for a few minutes to help relax your eyes. Trataka, a meditation technique, involves gazing steadily at a small object or candle flame, which can improve focus and cleanse the eyes, too.

Ensure you get enough restful sleep, as sleep is vital for eye health and minimizes Vata imbalances. Exposure to television or computer screens, especially before bedtime, should be limited. Blue light filter glasses can help reduce strain.

For therapeutic support, Triphala powder can be beneficial; you can wash your eyes with Triphala water (soaking the powder overnight, then straining) to help cleanse and soothe them. Ghee, especially medicated ghee like Mahatriphala ghrita, is traditionally used in Ayurveda to support eye health and can be consumed regularly with a glass of warm milk.

Remember, none of this replaces the use of spectacles or professional medical treatment but can serve as complementary approaches. Always consult with a healthcare provider or Ayurvedic practitioner specializing in eye health before making significant changes to your health regimen.
