Experiencing pain, burning sensations, tingling, and numbness may indeed be troubling, but with Ayurveda’s principles, we can work toward alleviating these symptoms. The fact that your HbA1c is normal, alongside a fasting blood sugar of 101, is promising, though these symptoms could be indicative of some other factors.

First things first, such sensations could relate to a “Vata” imbalance, which in Ayurvedic medicine, corresponds to issues with circulation and nervous functions. To address this, implementing a few dietary, lifestyle and herbal changes might be beneficial.

In dietary terms, you might consider increasing your intake of warm, moist foods. Include cooked grains like rice or quinoa, warm milk, lightly spiced vegetables, and nourishing soups. Adding ghee (clarified butter) in moderation can also be quite helpful in balancing vata.

Herbal remedies like Ashwagandha or Brahmi can also be supportive. These herbs work to calm the nervous system and may ease those disturbing sensations. You might take them as capsules or powders, following the dosage you’re most comfortable with, typically 500-1000mg daily.

For external application, warm oil massages with sesame or mustard oil could promote better circulation and offer relief from pain and numbness. Do self-massages in circular motions for about 15 minutes before taking a warm bath. This practice not only alleviates muscle tension but also calms Vata.

Lastly, consider adopting a consistent routine that includes daily light exercises like yoga or tai chi, which help maintain muscle strength and flexibility. Stress reduction techniques, such as deep breathing or meditation, can support the nervous system in healing.

In case these symptoms persist or worsen, I urge you to consult a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying conditions like nerve entrapment or deficiencies. Remember, Ayurveda complements but does not replace medical care when necessary.
