Adenomyosis can be complex, especially with prolonged bleeding. In Ayurveda, understanding the root cause is key. The primary focus here would be to balance the doshas involved, usually an imbalance of Vata and Pitta doshas can cause such disturbances. It’s encouraging that you’re looking for alternatives before considering uterus removal.
First, to address the bleeding, you might consider Ashoka (Saraca asoca) which is traditionally used for its hemostatic properties. Ashoka’s bark can help soothe and balance excessive bleeding. You might take it in powder form (around 1-2 grams daily), mix it with warm water, on an empty stomach for better absorption.
Dietary adjustments are equally important. Favor cooling, Pitta-pacifying foods — like cucumbers, melons, and leafy greens. Avoid hot or spicy food, caffeine and alcohol as they can exacerbate bleeding. Including ghee in your diet can nourish and balance Vata dosha.
Lifestyle modifications suggest adopting a stress-reducing routine, perhaps yoga or meditation, to steady Vata. Avoid excessive physical activity until the bleeding is under control.
For supporting overall uterine health, Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) can be beneficial. Consuming it in tablet or powder form, it nourishes the reproductive system and can help regulate hormones. Shatavari churna, half teaspoon twice daily with milk, is an option to explore.
For endometrial thickness, Ayurveda recommends detoxification practices. Panchakarma therapies like Basti (medicated enema) could be beneficial. Consultation with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner is necessary before proceeding with Panchakarma as it should be personalized based on your condition and constitution.
Remember, these suggestions are preliminary and it’s crucial to work closely with a local Ayurvedic physician. If bleeding does not cease or symptoms worsen, seeking immediate medical attention is critical. Ayurveda can potentially offer supportive treatments but be cautious with major interventions without professional guidance.
