I have been suffering with difficulty in maintaining an erection and my sexual urge has decreased. I have been experiencing this for the last one month. I am 28 years and was really active when it comes to sexual performance but lately, I am experiencing a complete decline in my sexual performance. Initially, I was only experiencing this during my second round of sex but lately, I have been experiencing this even in my very first round. This has made me so depressed and worried for the past couple of weeks. I have tried exercising and eating vegetables and fruit but am still not seeing any improvement. I was having health concern with kidney stone.

Recent lifestyle changes, stress or your kidney stone condition could have a part. Here’s a tailored approach through Ayurveda to address these issues from a holistic perspective.

Firstly, let’s consider your dosha, or unique body constitution. It’s possible you have a vata imbalance, as pressure, stress, and even kidney-related issues could affect this dosha. It would be beneficial to introduce more grounding foods; think whole grains, root veggies like sweet potatoes, carrots, and beets. Also, having warm meals with healthy fats including ghee, can help pacify vata dosha. Avoid cold drinks, raw foods, and excessive stimulants like caffeine.

In terms of herbs, Ashwagandha, known for its rejuvenating and strengthening properties, might be helpful. Consume 1 teaspoon of Ashwagandha powder mixed with warm milk in the evening. It supports overall strength and has an uplifitng effect on mood. Another herb to consider is Safed Musli, often recommended for sexual wellness—it can boost libido. Use it cautiously around 500 mg to 1 gram per day.

Since stress can be a significant contributor to ED and lack of libido, including calming practices like pranayama or meditation daily will be quite beneficial. Simple breathing exercises and a few minutes of meditation can alleviate anxiety, helping regulate hormones.

Address your digestion too, since a weak digestive fire (agni) can contribute to imbalance. Sipping warm water with ginger during meals helps sharpen digestion. Avoid heavy, oily, or very spicy foods which could disrupt your digestive fire.

Maintain a regular sleep pattern. Poor sleep negatively impacts sexual urge, balancing sleep will support your hormonal health.
