Dr. Harshita Hyati
I have gained comprehensive clinical experience through my internship and professional duties, which has laid a strong foundation for my medical practice. During my internship, I worked extensively across multiple departments, including casualty, general medicine, general surgery, and obstetrics & gynecology at the Government District Hospital, Gadag. This exposure allowed me to handle a variety of acute and chronic cases, sharpen my clinical assessment skills, and actively participate in patient management under the guidance of senior medical professionals. Following this, I served as a duty doctor at AYUSH Hospital, Gadag Betgeri, where I applied my Ayurvedic knowledge in a clinical setting and contributed to patient care in both outpatient and inpatient departments. I successfully completed 366 days of rigorous internship training at DGM Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Gadag, where I was involved in patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning under supervision. My time there allowed me to integrate classical Ayurvedic principles with practical patient care while developing a keen understanding of hospital operations and multidisciplinary collaboration. These experiences have enhanced my ability to handle diverse medical conditions confidently while maintaining a patient-centered approach. I am dedicated to continuing my journey as an Ayurvedic practitioner with the same passion and commitment, focusing on delivering quality, evidence-based, and holistic healthcare.

When it comes to treating urinary tract infections (UTIs) through Ayurveda, there are indeed several herbal remedies that can be effective. Let’s dive in! Often, UTIs are related to an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, which governs heat and metabolism in the body. So we aim to cool things down a bit with our choice of remedies. **Punarnava:** This plant is celebrated for its diuretic properties. Take it in powdered form with warm water, maybe around 3 grams twice a day. It helps cleanse the urinary tract by increasing urination. **Varuna:** Another strong candidate, Varuna, can help alleviate symptoms related to UTIs. It can effectively balance the doshas and improve urinary functions. You can take it as a decoction by boiling a teaspoon of Varuna bark in water, once or twice daily. **Gokshura:** Known for supporting kidney health, Gokshura can be consumed as a powder or in capsule form. This herb is believed to flush out toxins and maintain urinary tract health. Try sticking to a daily intake of 50mg for tablets. **Coriander Seeds:** Surprisingly effective! Soak a tablespoon in water overnight, drink the strained water in the morning. It’ll aid cooling down in internal heat. **Amla (Indian Gooseberry):** High in vitamin C, amla helps fortify the urinary system. A teaspoon of amla powder mixed with honey can work wonders. **Himalayan Salt & Lemon Water:** Though not a herb, this concoction acts as an alkalizing agent. Drink a glass of lukewarm water with a teaspoon of Himalayan salt and a few drops of lemon juice, first thing in the morning. **Diet & Hydration:** Don’t forget the essentials! A Pitta-pacifying diet is recommended. Plenty of water, coconut water, fresh greens, and avoiding hot, spicy food can aid in quicker recovery. Be mindful of not overdoing these remedies — balance is key. If symptoms persist or if there's severe pain or fever involved, its always best to consult with a healthcare professional. Sometimes, Ayurvedic remedies need to be tailored based on personal constitution, and getting that right matters a ton.
