Taking care of your overall health doesn't have to cost a fortune, especially if you're looking to prevent acne and manage those pesky scars. The focus should be on balancing your body's doshas, particularly Pitta, which often aggravates skin issues like acne. For your diet, favours foods that are cooling and non-inflammatory. Think fresh fruits like apples and pears, and vegetables like cucumbers and leafy greens—you can't go wrong here. Avoid spicy, oily and fried foods, as well as excessive intake of nuts, which can aggravate your skin issues. Incorporate triphala powder into your routine. It's a traditional Ayurvedic remedy known to balance all three doshas, particularly effective for detoxifying your system and hence, improving skin health. You can take half a teaspoon with warm water every night before bed; this will aid in digestion and keep your liver functioning optimally, which has a wonderful impact on your skin. For your skincare routine, keep it simple and natural. Use rose water as a toner; it's excellent for cooling the skin and balancing Pitta. You can try a face pack made from gram flour (besan) and turmeric. Mix a tablespoon of gram flour with a pinch of turmeric and enough water to form a paste. Apply it once weekly and gently wash off after 15 minutes; this will both cleanse and soothe your skin. When it comes to marks and scars, a simple homemade paste of sandalwood powder and rose water can do wonders. Apply it directly on the scars and let it stay for at least 20 minutes before rinsing off. Don't forget to drink plenty of water and get regular exercise to keep toxins flushing out of your system. Consistency is key, so keep up with these practices daily and give it some time to see noticeable changes. Remember, everything in Ayurveda involves patience and care, just like nurturing a plant to grow healthy and strong.
