Your experience with gastric issues flaring up after certain dietary choices isn’t unusual, especially with foods and substances that increase Pitta dosha. It’s important to tackle the root cause for long-term relief.
Firstly, considering your current medications, it’s crucial to maintain ongoing consultation with your healthcare provider about any changes in your regime. Ayurveda can be integrated carefully with your existing prescriptions. Since you’ve reported symptoms like burning, tightness, and flatulence, there are specific Ayurvedic practices you could consider:
1. Dietary Adjustments: Favor Pitta-pacifying diets which include cooling and light foods. Incorporate more fruits and vegetables like cucumbers, melons, leafy greens, and avoid spicy, deep-fried or oily foods. Try to avoid alcohol which aggravates Pitta and Vata doshas.
2. Herbal Teas: Ginger tea can certainly aid digestion, but because your symptoms suggest excess heat, try cumin-coriander-fennel tea. Steep one teaspoon of these combined seeds in hot water and consume it a few times a day.
3. Manage Stress: Given you’re on stress medication, integrating simple practices like pranayama, especially Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) can calm the nervous and digestive systems.
4. Avoid Carminatives: In Ayurveda, Hingwashtak churna (asafoetida blend) is often recommended for gas, but always check with your doctor because of your medication interactions.
5. Routine: Try to maintain a meal schedule, don’t skip meals and consider eating your heaviest meal at noon when Agni is strongest.
In your case of ongoing medication and symptoms like tinnitus and dizziness, monitor your conditions closely and consult your primary care provider immediately if there’s worsening. Understanding the complexity of your condition and ensuring safety alongside Ayurvedic principles infinitely supports balanced healing.
