I have Allergy to Cosmetics

Every time I put cream or makeup on my face, my skin become red and itchy. Last month, I try new foundation, and my face looks like tomato! I go to many doctors, but they don’t help me. I stop using all cosmetics, but my skin still feel bad. I also try natural products, but they also make me react. Can you please tell me if there are ayurvedic solutions for "allergy to cosmetics"? How can I heal my skin and feel normal

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. I understand how frustrating it must be to deal with these reactions, especially when so many products only seem to make things worse. From an Ayurvedic perspective, your symptoms—such as redness, itching, and skin sensitivity—are likely signs of an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, which governs heat and inflammation in the body. When Pitta becomes aggravated, it can make your skin especially reactive to external products, even natural ones. Here are a few steps that may help bring balance and soothe your skin: 1. Cooling Herbal Remedies: Since redness and itching indicate excess Pitta, cooling herbs like aloe vera and sandalwood can help. Applying fresh aloe vera gel directly to the skin may provide relief and help calm inflammation. 2. Dietary Adjustments: Ayurveda suggests reducing spicy, sour, and acidic foods, as they can increase Pitta and trigger skin sensitivity. Opting for more cooling, hydrating foods, like cucumber, watermelon, and leafy greens, can support your skin from the inside. 3. Simple Skincare Routine: Try using minimal, non-irritating products, and avoid heavy or complex formulations. Plain coconut oil can sometimes act as a gentle moisturizer for sensitive skin; however, test it on a small patch first, as each skin type is unique. 4. Detoxification: Ayurvedic detox practices, such as gentle herbal teas or specific cleansing programs, can help eliminate toxins that may contribute to skin irritation. I recommend consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner who can assess your individual constitution and guide you through a personalized approach to balance Pitta and support your skin’s healing. Feel free to reach out if you have more questions, and I hope these steps bring you relief soon.

Digestive Issues After Eating Wrong Food Combos? Ayurveda Advice Needed

1 answers

I’m having such weird digestion problems lately... I thought I was eating healthy (smoothies, fruits, veggies), but now my stomach feels heavy & bloated almost all the time. I was reading online that certain food combinations can be harmful, like mixing milk with fruits or eating yogurt at night (which I do all the time!). I’ve been having banana smoothies with milk every morning, and I’ve just learned it’s a ‘wrong food combination’ according to Ayurveda? 😳 Could this be why I’m always feeling so sluggish and gassy after breakfast?? Also, sometimes I eat leftovers cold straight from the fridge (I know... it's bad 😬). Is that also against Ayurvedic principles? I’m confused about which combos are safe and which can mess up digestion. Would love some advice on what to avoid and how to balance my meals better, so I don’t feel like this anymore...

In Ayurveda, proper digestion (Agni) is key to overall health, and food combinations play a significant role in maintaining digestive balance. Mixing milk with fruits like bananas is considered a harmful combination because it can create a heavy, difficult-to-digest mixture that leads to bloating, sluggishness, and gas. This combination is thought to disrupt the digestive fire, as milk and fruit have different digestion times and qualities. Eating cold, leftover food is also generally discouraged in Ayurveda, as it is believed to impair digestion by lowering the Agni (digestive fire). It’s better to consume freshly cooked meals, ideally warm, to support proper digestion. To improve digestion, focus on light, warm, and easily digestible meals, and avoid heavy or incompatible food combinations. For example, try eating fruits separately, and avoid mixing dairy with sour or acidic foods like yogurt and fruit. A balanced meal of whole grains, vegetables, and healthy fats, eaten in moderation, can support your digestive health and prevent bloating and sluggishness. Additionally, drinking warm water throughout the day can help stimulate digestion.

What Are Mustard Oil for Pooja Uses?

2 answers

I’ve often seen mustard oil being used in traditional rituals and religious ceremonies, but I’m not entirely sure why. I’m curious to know: What are mustard oil for pooja uses? From what I understand, mustard oil is often used in oil lamps during poojas and other spiritual practices. It’s said to have a unique significance because of its purity and ability to purify the surroundings. Does the use of mustard oil in a diya hold any specific meaning in religious texts or traditions? Why is it preferred over other oils like ghee or sesame oil? I’ve also heard that mustard oil is believed to ward off negative energies and bring positivity into the home. Is there any particular way to prepare the oil or the lamp for these benefits? For example, should the diya be placed in specific directions or lit during specific times for the best results? Another thing I’m curious about is whether mustard oil has any practical benefits when used in pooja. Some people say it burns longer and produces less smoke compared to other oils, making it a good choice for rituals. Is this true, or is the choice of mustard oil purely based on tradition? Lastly, are there different types of mustard oil available for pooja, and does it matter which one is used? For instance, is cold-pressed mustard oil considered more auspicious or effective than refined versions? If anyone regularly uses mustard oil for pooja, I’d love to hear about your experiences and any tips you might have for enhancing its spiritual benefits.

Mustard oil is commonly used in poojas for its purity and spiritual significance. It is believed to purify the surroundings and attract positive energy. In many traditions, mustard oil is preferred over other oils like ghee or sesame oil due to its strong, pungent aroma, which is said to ward off negative energies. The oil is used in diyas (oil lamps) because it burns longer with less smoke, making it practical for rituals. Cold-pressed mustard oil is often considered more auspicious than refined versions. The direction and timing of lighting the lamp can vary by tradition, but it is often recommended to light the diya in the northeast direction for positive energy. Many people believe mustard oil enhances the spiritual atmosphere of the home, bringing peace and prosperity.

Krimi In Stomach

2 answers

For a while now, I’ve been experiencing digestive discomfort, bloating, and irregular bowel movements. A recent stool test revealed the presence of parasites, and I believe this condition is referred to as krimi in stomach in Ayurveda. I’m looking for natural remedies to address this issue and prevent it from recurring. What does Ayurveda recommend for treating krimi in stomach? Are there specific herbs like vidanga, ajwain, or neem that effectively kill parasites and cleanse the digestive system? I’ve also read about formulations like krimighna rasa – are they safe and effective for chronic cases? Does treating krimi in stomach require dietary restrictions? Should I avoid certain foods that might aggravate the condition, like sugar or processed items? I’m also curious about whether panchakarma therapies, such as virechana or basti, play a role in expelling parasites from the body. If anyone has successfully treated krimi in stomach through Ayurveda, I’d love to hear your experience. How long did it take to see results, and were there any challenges during the treatment?

In Ayurveda, krimi (parasites in the stomach) is treated with a combination of herbal remedies, dietary changes, and cleansing therapies. Effective herbs for parasite expulsion include vidanga, ajwain, neem, garlic, and pomegranate seeds, which are known for their antiparasitic and digestive properties. Krimighna rasa, an Ayurvedic formulation, is also commonly used to address chronic parasitic infections, but it should be taken under the supervision of a practitioner due to its potency. Dietary modifications play a key role in treatment. Avoiding sugar, processed foods, and dairy can help reduce the feeding ground for parasites. A diet focused on easily digestible, light, and warm foods is recommended. Panchakarma therapies like virechana (purging) and basti (medicated enemas) are often used to detoxify the body and expel toxins, including parasites, and can aid in faster recovery. The duration for results varies, but many people notice improvement within a few weeks of treatment, especially with the right combination of herbs and therapies. Be patient and consistent with the regimen, and always consult an Ayurvedic doctor for personalized guidance. If anyone has used Ayurveda for krimi treatment, your experience and feedback would be helpful in further understanding the practical application of these remedies.

What Are the Benefits of Adhimadhuram for Skin, and How Can It Be Used?

I’ve been reading about the benefits of adhimadhuram (also known as licorice root), and I am particularly interested in its uses for skincare. Can someone explain how adhimadhuram for skin works in Ayurveda and how it can help treat conditions like acne, pigmentation, or dryness? I know that adhimadhuram for skin is often used to brighten the complexion, reduce pigmentation, and soothe irritation. How does it work at the cellular level to promote healthier skin? Should it be used topically as a paste or consumed internally for better results? I’ve heard that licorice has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. How can these qualities help with acne or other inflammatory skin conditions? Can adhimadhuram for skin be applied directly to the face, or is it better mixed with other ingredients like honey or rose water? Additionally, does adhimadhuram for skin work for all skin types, or is it particularly suited for dry, sensitive, or oily skin? Are there any potential side effects of using licorice on the skin or consuming it for skin health? Lastly, how long should I use adhimadhuram before seeing visible results for skin improvement?

Kafkuthar Ras Uses

1 answers

For the past few weeks, I’ve been experiencing a persistent cough and heaviness in my chest. A local Ayurvedic practitioner suggested Kafkuthar Ras, saying it could help clear mucus and balance kapha. I want to learn more about Kafkuthar Ras uses and whether it’s suitable for my condition. Does Kafkuthar Ras work effectively for chronic cough and respiratory problems? I’ve read that it’s also used for conditions like asthma and bronchitis. If that’s true, how long does it take to see results, and should it be combined with any other treatments? I also want to know about the proper dosage for Kafkuthar Ras. Is it safe to take it daily, or should it only be used for a limited time? Are there any precautions or side effects, especially for people with sensitive digestion or low immunity? If anyone has experience with Kafkuthar Ras uses, please share your story. Did it provide lasting relief, and what else did you do to support the treatment?

Kafkuthar Ras is an Ayurvedic remedy commonly used to treat respiratory issues like chronic cough, asthma, and bronchitis, particularly by balancing kapha dosha and clearing excess mucus from the airways. It works by reducing inflammation, promoting expectoration, and soothing the respiratory tract. Typically taken in small doses (125-250 mg) once or twice daily, it can provide relief within days to weeks, though longer-term use should be supervised. While effective, it can cause digestive upset in sensitive individuals or those with low immunity, so dosage adjustments may be necessary. To support its benefits, a warm, light diet, adequate hydration, and complementary herbs like tulsi can be helpful. Always consult an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized advice.

What Is the Cerebrum, and How Does It Affect Brain Function?

1 answers

I’ve been learning more about brain health recently, and I came across information about the cerebrum, which is apparently the largest part of the brain. I never realized how many functions it controls—movement, speech, emotions, and even problem-solving. Now I’m curious—how does the cerebrum work, and what happens if it gets damaged? From what I understand, the cerebrum is divided into different lobes that control various body functions. But how do injuries or diseases affect the cerebrum? For example, do strokes, brain injuries, or neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s specifically damage certain parts of the cerebrum? I also read that lifestyle factors like diet, exercise, and meditation can support brain function. Are there specific habits or foods that improve cerebrum health? I found that Ayurveda recommends Brahmi, Ashwagandha, and Shankhpushpi for brain support—do these actually enhance cognitive function and memory? For those who have studied brain health or have experience with neurological issues, what have you found to be the best ways to keep the cerebrum functioning at its best? I’d love to hear practical tips on how to maintain brain health naturally.

The cerebrum is the largest part of the brain, controlling movement, speech, emotions, and cognitive functions like reasoning and problem-solving. It’s divided into lobes, each responsible for different tasks. Damage to the cerebrum, from strokes, brain injuries, or diseases like Alzheimer’s, can affect various functions depending on the affected area, such as motor skills, memory, or speech. Maintaining cerebrum health involves regular exercise, a nutrient-rich diet (with antioxidants and omega-3s), and stress reduction practices like meditation. Ayurvedic herbs such as Brahmi, Ashwagandha, and Shankhpushpi support brain function by enhancing memory, reducing stress, and promoting cognitive clarity.

About Dr. Harsha Joy
A massive thank you to Dr. Harsha and this forum, honestly, I still can’t believe I’m finally better. For years I was dealing with this awful pain in my lower back and hips, especially when I sat for more than 10 minutes. It felt like someone stabbing me over and over. I couldn’t work properly, couldn’t enjoy family dinners, even short car rides were unbearable. I tried so many things—physiotherapy, meds, chiropractors, acupuncture, even weird devices that claimed to fix back pain. Nothing worked. I was so frustrated and kind of gave up, thinking maybe this is just my life now. Then, randomly one night, I found this forum. I didn’t expect much but thought I’d give it a try. Dr. Harsha replied to my question, and honestly, her response felt so personal. She explained everything clearly how my problem might be connected to imbalances in my body and not just something physical. She gave me a plan: some yoga stretches, herbal oils for massage, and a few Ayurvedic supplements. She even suggested small lifestyle changes, like how to sit better and take regular breaks during the day. I didn’t think it would work, but after a couple of weeks, I started to notice the pain easing. Sitting didn’t hurt as much, and my back felt looser. Over the next couple of months, the pain kept getting better. Now, I can sit through a whole day at work, go out with friends, and even travel without worrying about pain. Dr. Harsha, you’ve honestly changed my life. Thank you so much for your help and to this forum for connecting me with her!

About Dr Sujal Patil
A huge thank you to Dr. Sujal and this amazing forum! I honestly never thought I’d find relief from the problem I was dealing with for so long. For years, I struggled with terrible digestive issues bloating, stomach cramps, and this constant feeling of heaviness after every meal. It didn’t matter what I ate, even the so-called “healthy” stuff would mess me up. Some days I’d feel fine, and then the next, I’d be in so much discomfort I couldn’t even focus on work or enjoy time with my family. I tried everything antacids, probiotics, different diets, cutting out foods one by one nothing worked for more than a week or two. Doctors just kept saying it was IBS and gave me more meds, but I was tired of taking pills that didn’t actually fix anything. Then I randomly came across this forum, while scrolling late at night looking for help. I posted my story, not really expecting much, but Dr. Sujal replied, and wow, I’m so glad she did. Her advice was so practical and made sense in a way no one else had explained before. She said my issues could be related to weak digestion and recommended a complete Ayurvedic approach to strengthen it. She suggested drinking warm water with a bit of ginger and lemon first thing in the morning, avoiding cold or raw foods, and eating lighter meals in the evening. She also told me to use some herbal powders like Trikatu to boost my digestion and add a few specific spices like cumin and fennel to my cooking. She even taught me some breathing exercises to help calm my gut when I felt stressed. Within a week of following her plan, I started feeling lighter, and my bloating reduced significantly. Over the next month, the cramps completely stopped, and I could eat meals without that horrible heavy feeling afterward. I honestly can’t believe how much better I feel now, and I haven’t touched an antacid in weeks! Dr. Sujal, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You didn’t just help me heal physically but also gave me confidence that I can manage my health naturally. This forum is a blessing, and I’m so glad I found it!
