Is Laxmivilas Ras effective for chronic cough, and what are the correct usage guidelines? - #22675

Hunter

I am really confused about this laxmivilas ras uses thing. I started taking it a few weeks ago for my chronic cough that just won't go away. I've read about the laxmivilas ras uses, like it's supposed to help with respiratory issues and digestion too, but I'm not sure if I’m taking it right. Sometimes it feels like my symptoms get worse, not better. Is it normal to feel this way? Also, I took it with honey like I read, but I've been having this weird stomach ache since. Should I keep using it, or should I try something else? Any tips?

Laxmivilas Ras can be helpful for respiratory issues, including chronic cough, when used correctly. However, its effectiveness often depends on how well it aligns with your individual constitution (prakriti) and the specific nature of your dosha imbalance. In Ayurveda, Laxmivilas Ras is typically used for Kapha-related disorders because it helps in balancing the Kapha dosha, which is often linked to respiratory issues like persistent cough. If your symptoms aren't improving, or even worsening, it's possible there's a mismatch between the remedy and your current health needs. Symptoms getting worse may indicate that your Pitta dosha, for instance, might be involved as Laxmivilas Ras can sometimes aggravate it due to its composition. It's crucial to ensure it's indeed suitable for your specific condition, as chronic coughs could be due to a vitiation of other doshas like Vata or Pitta, not just Kapha. Taking it with honey is a common recommendation as it aids in its effectiveness, but if it's leading to stomach ache, it could be due to incorrect dosage, timing, or existing digestive issues. You might be sensitive to one of the ingredients, as Laxmivilas Ras contains several herbs and bhasmas (calcined metals and minerals), which might not suit everyone equally. It's important to consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner who can assess your overall condition and lifestyle, ensuring that the treatment is personalised and targeted. They may also suggest alternatives or supportive therapies like ginger tea, turmeric milk, or appropriate diet changes that might be soothing for your cough and digestion simultaneously. Remember, chronic dyscomforts needing immediate attention shouldn't be ignored. If the cough persists or stomach issues increase, consider seeking a medical evaluation to rule out any underlying conditions that require different treatment. Adjustments to your diet, increased hydration, and breathing exercises might also support your respiratory health alongside any tailored Ayurvedic regimen suggested by a professional.
