Dr. Gadiraju Sri Vidya
I began my professional journey as a junior doctor during my internship at Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Ayurveda College and Hospital in Chennai, where I gained practical, hands-on experience in both outpatient and inpatient Ayurvedic care. During this time, I developed strong diagnostic and clinical skills, particularly in managing a variety of health conditions through classical Ayurvedic principles and holistic therapeutic approaches. My clinical exposure allowed me to work extensively in areas such as joint and musculoskeletal pain, gastrointestinal issues including indigestion and acid reflux, and various gynecological disorders. I have also treated several patients dealing with common respiratory ailments like allergic rhinitis and bronchitis using herbal formulations, Panchakarma, and lifestyle modifications. I hold a special interest in Ayurvedic cosmetology and have seen positive outcomes in managing skin conditions such as acne, pigmentation, and hair fall by integrating herbal skincare regimens with internal detoxification therapies. My approach is deeply rooted in identifying the root cause of illness and customizing treatments based on each patient’s prakriti (constitution), dosha imbalance, and lifestyle factors. I believe in the preventive as well as curative strength of Ayurveda and aim to empower my patients with knowledge, natural remedies, and sustainable health practices. Whether it's pain management, digestive wellness, women’s health, or skincare, my goal is to restore balance and long-term vitality through authentic Ayurvedic healing.

Experiencing acidity and bloating can indeed be uncomfortable, and it's good to hear you've already started taking steps like reducing spicy foods and incorporating curd and coconut water into your diet. Ayurveda views these symptoms as a sign of an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, responsible for metabolism and digestion. Firstly, to help balance Pitta, focus on foods that have cooling properties and are easy to digest. Consider having freshly squeezed aloe vera juice, a soother for the stomach lining and healer of the digestive tract. Consume about a quarter cup once daily, preferably on an empty stomach. Continue having curd, but make sure it's fresh and not sour, it's more refreshing for the stomach when mixed with a pinch of cumin powder or grated cucumber. Secondly, spices like cumin, coriander, and fennel can aid digestion without aggravating Pitta. Try a tea made by boiling a teaspoon of these seeds for about 10 minutes, and drink it warm after meals. Adjust your meal timings as well; eat your largest meal when the sun is at its peak, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., as digestive fire is strongest at this time. Avoid eating too late in the evening which can disturb digestion. Besides diet, practicing right lifestyle is also important. Begin your day with a glass of warm water which can help cleanse the digestive tract. Engage in calming exercises like yoga, particular postures like Vajrasana can improve digestion after meals. Practicing pranayama or deep breathing exercises will soothe your mind and digestion. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare professional or an Ayurvedic practitioner. It's crucial to rule out any serious conditions. While Ayurveda offers many insights and treatments, some conditions may need urgent or specific medical attention.
