how to use beetroot powder for face - #23973
I am seriously trying to figure out how to use beetroot powder for face stuff. A few months ago, I saw my friend posting about her glowing skin after using it, and I thought, why not give it a shot, right? I've been dealing with these annoying dark spots and some dullness after sun exposure, ugh. It’s like my skin has lost its sparkle. I bought some organic beetroot powder online, but I’m kinda lost on how to actually use beetroot powder for face treatments. Like, do I mix it with water, or should it be in cream? I did try just putting it on with a little coconut oil the other day but ended up with pink stains on my towel 😂. Plus, how often should I do this beetroot powder thing? 🤔 Every day seems too much, right? I wanna be careful, because my skin can be sensitive sometimes. Any tips, or recipes, or advice on how to use beetroot powder for face would be super helpful. Thanks!

Doctors’ responses
Using beetroot powder for the face can indeed be fruitful, especially for addressing concerns like dullness and dark spots. Beetroot is renowned in Ayurvedic beauty for its rich antioxidant content, which can enhance skin glow and tackle pigmentation. While it can be beneficial, it’s important to consider your skin’s sensitivities and how best to incorporate this natural remedy safely.
For a simple beetroot face mask: You can mix beetroot powder with rose water — which is soothing and suits most skin types. Take about a teaspoon of beetroot powder and add enough rose water to form a smooth paste. It might vary a bit, so aim for a consistency that’s not too runny nor too thick. Apply this paste to your face and let it sit for about 10–15 minutes. Expect a bit of pink coloration on the skin while applying, but once rinsed, any residue should mostly wash away.
To address your concern about sensitivity, introducing beetroot powder slowly into your skincare routine is sensible. Starting once a week to see how it interacts with your skin is usually a safe bet. Observing any reaction (redness, irritation) will help you decide how frequently you should use it.
Be cautious of mixing it with strong oils like coconut if your skin leans sensitive, as it may be a bit much. Instead, perhaps try adding a small amount to a gentle face cream or yogurt (unsweetened) – that’ll both hydrate and ease the directness of beetroot.
Regarding the pink stains, that’s quite common! To avoid it seeping in towels post-application, you’d best rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and be sure to pat dry your skin pressing softly with a separate towel designated for facial use.
As always, sun exposure is a major factor impacting skin vitality, so bear in mind using a suitable sunscreen. This will augment your beetroot remedy efforts by preventing further sun-induced dullness or spots. Keep your skin’s response in check, as that’s the best guide you have.
