Filarasis is a tricky one, especially in older individuals like your mother. Ayurveda can sometimes offer supportive therapies, but let’s remember it’s essential to keep in touch with your modern medicine doctor too. Filaria is usually caused by parasitic worms, and while conventional treatments can target these, Ayurveda might help with managing the symptoms or supporting recovery. First, try focusing on her diet. Encourage her to favor warm, cooked meals that are easy on digestion. Kapha-pacifying foods can be useful, given the swelling often linked with falia. This could mean minimizing dairy, heavy, or oily foods. Instead, opt for more spices like turmeric, ginger, and garlic which could help reduce inflammation and bolster her agni (the digestive fire). But, be sure she can tolerate them first. Another avenue in Ayurveda is herbal remedies, with herbs like Triphala often touted for improving circulation and lymphatic drainage. You might consider giving her Triphala powder in warm water just before bed. However, it’s important to consult a knowledgeable practitioner regarding dosage and suitability as individual needs can vary, especially with age-related considerations. Furthermore, natural oils like Neem oil can sometimes be massaged carefully over the affected area to potentially aid in lymphatic movement, but ensure her skin is not sensitive or reacts negatively. Gentle massages might also be beneficial in some cases to promote circulation; just be gentle, considering her age and any existing discomfort she feels. Lastly, simple Yogasans like raising her legs on a pillow while lying down can sometimes improve lymph flow. Still, she should avoid this if it causes discomfort. Again, keep in close contact with your primary healthcare provider. While Ayurveda offers these suggestions, it's crucial her overall condition be monitored closely, so don't hesitate to reach out to her doctors regularly to gauge progress and ensure the best line of care.

Dr. Manjula
I am a dedicated Ayurveda practitioner with a deep-rooted passion for restoring health through traditional Ayurvedic principles. My clinical approach revolves around understanding the unique constitution (Prakruti) and current imbalance (Vikruti) of each individual. I conduct comprehensive consultations that include Prakruti-Vikruti Pareeksha, tongue examination, and other Ayurvedic diagnostic tools to identify the underlying causes of disease, rather than just addressing symptoms. My primary focus is on balancing the doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—through individualized treatment plans that include herbal medicines, therapeutic diets, and lifestyle modifications. I believe that healing begins with alignment, and I work closely with my patients to bring the body, mind, and spirit into harmony using personalized, constitution-based interventions. Whether managing chronic conditions or guiding preventive health, I aim to empower patients through Ayurvedic wisdom, offering not just relief but a sustainable path to well-being. My practice is rooted in authenticity, guided by classical Ayurvedic texts and a strong commitment to ethical, patient-centered care. I take pride in helping people achieve long-term health outcomes by integrating ancient knowledge with a modern, practical approach. Through continuous learning and close attention to every detail in diagnosis and treatment, I strive to deliver meaningful, natural, and effective results for all my patients.
