Hello Kaniish, Here are the most important Ayurvedic medications to increase breast milk production: Shatavari kalpa - 1 teaspoon of powder with warm milk twice daily. Shatavari is the key herb for boosting lactation. Fenugreek (Methi): 1 teaspoon of soaked seeds taken with warm water in the morning to improve milk production. Shatavari Ghrita: 1 teaspoon once daily on an empty stomach to nourish the body and enhance milk supply. Lactation Tea: Boil equal parts of fennel, cumin, and fenugreek seeds in water. Drink this tea 2-3 times a day to promote lactation. These remedies, along with staying hydrated and eating nourishing foods like ghee, dates, ashgourd jam, pomegranate and almonds, should help improve breast milk supply.

It is common for milk supply to fluctuate, especially as your baby grows and feeding patterns change. In Ayurveda, the production of breast milk (Stanya) is closely connected to the health of Rasa dhatu (body fluids) and is influenced by your diet, hydration, and emotional well-being. Since you're already taking Shatavari, which is excellent for enhancing milk production and nourishing the body, I recommend continuing with it, as it helps balance hormones and supports lactation. You can take it with warm milk twice daily for better results. Additionally, consider adding herbs like Vidarikand and Fenugreek seeds (Methi), which are known for boosting milk supply. Soaking fenugreek seeds overnight and consuming them with warm water in the morning can help stimulate lactation. Ensure you are well-hydrated by drinking plenty of warm fluids, such as jeera water or fennel tea, which also aids digestion and milk production. Incorporate a nourishing diet rich in healthy fats, whole grains, and leafy greens, as these strengthen the Rasa dhatu. Foods like ghee, almonds, sesame seeds, and milk can help boost your overall nourishment and milk supply. Gentle Abhyanga (oil massage) with warm sesame oil can also help relax your body and improve lactation by calming Vata. Lastly, maintaining a relaxed state of mind is essential, as stress can negatively impact milk production. Practicing Pranayama and meditation for a few minutes daily can help you feel more centered and enhance your body's ability to produce milk.

First off, I'm glad you've already tried shatavari powder and lactocare. Shatavari is amazing for supporting lactation. But since you’re still feeling a shortage, maybe a little tweak in your routine will help. It's quite normal for breast milk supply to fluctuate, especially as your baby grows and starts eating solids. Let’s chat some Ayurveda magic here — it’s all about balancing those doshas. It seems vata might be slightly disturbed, which can affect milk production. A few things to try: Start your morning with a warm glass of milk mixed with a teaspoon of ghee and a pinch of nutmeg. This will pacify vata and also help in nourishing both you and your little one. Your diet matters a ton! Make sure it’s nourishing and warming. Think foods like rice, ghee, dal, carrots, spinach, and fenugreek seeds (methi). Fenugreek seeds are particularly beneficial, maybe sprinkle them in food or just soak them overnight and drink the water in morning. Also, remember hydration. Drink warm water throughout the day and consider adding some fennel seeds to it. They help enhance milk production. Relaxation is something often overlooked but it’s key here. Stress can impact milk flow, so take time to rest when you can. Try a simple abhyanga massage with warm sesame oil. Rubbing your abdomen gently can help calm things down internally. Before bed, consider another glass of warm milk with shatavari. Sometimes it takes couple of weeks to notice changes, so stick with it a bit. If you find your situation doesn't improve or worsens, it's best to reach out to healthcare provider to make sure there’s nothing more serious going on. Remember, you’re doing great — everyone’s journey looks different. Take it step by step and be patient with yourself.
