Numbness in the leg after sitting can be linked to circulation issues or nerve compression. Ayurveda views such imbalances often as a result of Vata dosha aggravation, which influences movement and nerve function. Given your weight and sudden onset of this problem, it might be prudent to seek immediate medical evaluation to rule out acute issues like deep vein thrombosis or nerve impingement.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, you may want to initiate some dietary and lifestyle changes to help balance Vata and improve circulation. Start with incorporating warming, grounding foods into your diet. Favor cooked, easily digestible meals such as moong dal khichdi or boiled vegetables to support digestion, as poor agni or digestive fire can exacerbate Vata-related symptoms.

Warm your body with spices like ginger and turmeric in your food, and consider drinking a decoction made of ginger and a pinch of asafoetida in hot water to improve circulation. Oil massage (abhyanga) using sesame oil before a warm shower can be beneficial in calming Vata, and enhancing blood flow and reducing numbness.

Avoid prolonged sitting by taking breaks every 15-20 minutes to stand or walk lightly. Introduction of gentle stretching or light yoga into your daily routine may also help maintain muscle flexibility and circulation—focus particularly on poses that open hip and leg channels, like Pawanmuktasana or Tadasana.

Weight also plays a role in Vata disturbances, so incorporating regular physical activity scheduled around your capacity is crucial. If pain or tingling sensation persists or worsens, do consult a healthcare provider to rule out urgent medical issues.
