Exercise is another pillar; choose activities that you enjoy to help you stick with it consistently. Walking is traditionally recommended post meals to aid in digestion and blood sugar regulation.

Hydration plays a role too, ensure you’re drinking enough water and consider herbal teas like cinnamon or ginger. Avoid excessive caffeine and alcohol as they can lead to swings in blood sugar levels.

Early complications from unchecked blood glucose can be serious: neuropathy, or nerve damage, is common. It can affect sensation in hands and feet. Watch for signs like numbness, tingling, or weakness. Poor circulation can follow, increasing the risk of ulcers or infections. Retinopathy is another, it damages the blood vessels in the retina, leading to vision problems.

Be aware of how stress impacts glucose levels; practices like yoga, meditation, and pranayama can be valuable in managing stress. Always monitor your blood sugar levels regularly to know how your body is responding, and consult a healthcare provider if you’re not noticing improvement. Remember, while Ayurveda emphasizes natural remedies, they should complement and not replace any prescribed medical treatments.
