Your symptoms breathlessness, coughing, frequent cold and sneezing, red eyes, runny nose, and throat irritation especially when they have been present for more than 6 months and worsen with exposure to dust or smoke, may be related to conditions such as allergic rhinitis, sinus irritation, or respiratory tract sensitivity. Continuous exposure to dust, pollution, or smoke can irritate the nasal passages and airways, leading to recurring symptoms like these. It is important to try to avoid dust and smoke exposure as much as possible. Wearing a mask when going outside, keeping your surroundings clean and well-ventilated, and maintaining good indoor air quality may help reduce symptoms. Drinking warm water, avoiding very cold or heavily fried foods, and maintaining a balanced diet can also support recovery. Steam inhalation and gargling with warm salt water may help soothe throat irritation and clear the nasal passages. You can use jal Neti technique from yoga with boric acid powder to reduce the on going infection which has proven to be very beneficial in such cases. Apply sesame oil on both the nostrils before going out or before dust exposure. Also if the breathlessness increases you can consult for personalized Ayurveda treatment and diet plan.
