In toddlers, cough and cold like this is usually mild respiratory irritation, but since you are hearing wheezing, extra care is needed. Keep the child warm and avoid cold exposure (fan/AC directly). Do not give cold foods, curd at night, or refrigerated items. Steam in room (mild steam environment, not direct strong steam) can help breathing. At home: You can give a small amount of honey with a pinch of turmeric (only if child is above 1 year). Warm fluids and light diet help recovery. Apply warm mustard oil (with a pinch of ajwain heated in it) on chest and back for relief. Sitopaladi churna – a small pinch with honey 2 times daily Talisadi churna – a small pinch with honey 2 times daily These help in cough and breathing support. Important: If wheezing increases, breathing becomes fast, or fever develops, consult a pediatrician immediately, as children can worsen quickly. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
