Doctors' responses

Your symptoms indicate an imbalance that might be tied to kapha dosha and vata dosha disturbances. After a procedure like UFE (Uterine Fibroid Embolization), your body may experience disturbances in internal balance which need addressing. The weight gain, uncontrolled hunger, inflammation, and low energy could be interlinked with digestive fire, or agni, imbalance. In Ayurveda, managing agni is crucial for digestion and metabolism. When this is impaired, it may lead to weight gain and energy fluctuations.

To help balance your doshas, start your day with warm water infused with a slice of ginger to ignite your digestive fire. Incorporate low-impact exercises like yoga or walking to help stimulate metabolism without overstressing your body. Evening fatigue can be reduced by adjusting meal times; have your largest meal at lunch and a lighter dinner to allow your body to process nutrients efficiently.

Eat warm, cooked meals that are easy to digest, emphasizing fresh vegetables and whole grains. Spices such as cumin, coriander, and turmeric are beneficial as they enhance digestion and help reduce inflammation. Avoid heavy, greasy, and processed foods, which can further aggravate kapha and vata.

Herbal remedies such as Ashwagandha might be helpful in reducing stress, promoting hair growth, and supporting energy levels, but consult with a practitioner before starting supplements. Ensure you’re hydrated, as dehydration can exacerbate energy loss.

To address hair fall and nail brittleness, focus on nourishing your tissues or dhatus. Include sesame oil massages for the scalp to promote circulation and strength. Proactively manage stress through meditation or pranayama, as stress can worsen these issues.

If symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical attention to rule out any complications from UFE or other undiagnosed conditions. Regular monitoring with a healthcare provider ensures any serious issues are addressed timely.

The symptoms you’re experiencing suggest an imbalance in the Kapha dosha with possible Vata disturbances. Undergoing UFE (Uterine Fibroid Embolization) could have affected your body’s natural dosha balance, leading to these issues. Let’s address these step by step according to Siddha-Ayurvedic principles.

First, for inflammation and weight gain, focus on reducing excess Kapha. Incorporate light, warm, and dry foods into your diet. Avoid heavy, oily, and cold foods. Start your day with a small piece of ginger with a pinch of rock salt; it’ll ignite your agni (digestive fire). Engage in daily physical activity like brisk walking or yoga to stimulate circulation and metabolism, ideally early in the morning when Kapha is highest.

For low energy and bloating, check your meal timings. Avoid heavy meals, especially in the late evening. Opt for small, regular meals to maintain energy levels. Trikatu churna, a blend of three pungent spices, can be useful to enhance digestion and reduce bloating. Mix it with honey and take it before meals, once or twice a day, in consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner.

Hair fall and nail breakage often point to Vata imbalance affecting the sapta dhatus, especially Asthi (bone) and Keshya (hair). Consider applying warm sesame oil to the scalp and body before bathing, which helps pacify Vata. Include nourishing foods like ghee, almonds, and dates in your diet.

Hydration is key too. Drink warm water throughout the day, which aids in Kapha balancing and reducing bloating. Keep stress managed, and prioritize good sleep, since Vata’s instability can increase with physical and mental restlessnes.

If symptoms persist or worsen, especially post-UFE complications, consult a healthcare provider to rule out any serious conditions. This ensures you’re on the right track and makes appropriate changes as needed.
