Doctors’ responses
Hello Sir, how long are you suffering for? Any specific reason behind this? Like prolonged antibiotic usage or chronic stress? Go on semisolid diet like soups, stews, dal khichdi, buttermilk, softly cooked rice, boiled water, boiled salad etc. Have tea made up of 1 tsp of equal quantity of fennel, cumin, coriander seeds. Drink thrice a day after meals. Don’t over eat or under eat. Walk slowly for 10 mins after meals. Avoid bakery items or non veg. Have 1 bowl of papaya everyday. Practice pranayama everyday. Drink a glass full of lukewarm water first thing in the morning after brushing. Wake up at 5.30 am and sleep around 10.30 pm.
Hello, I understand that you’re experiencing several digestive issues, including indigestion, gas, constipation, fatigue, weak digestion, and loss of appetite, which can be quite challenging, especially when combined with stress and anxiety. These symptoms may indicate an imbalance in the Vata dosha, which governs digestion in Ayurveda. To provide you with a tailored solution, I would like to gather more information about your symptoms. Specifically, could you tell me how often you experience gas and constipation, what your typical daily diet looks like, and if you’ve noticed any particular foods that worsen or alleviate your symptoms? Additionally, how do you typically manage stress and anxiety, and are there any other symptoms you’ve noticed, such as changes in sleep patterns or mood swings? In the meantime, consider incorporating warm, cooked meals like khichdi, steamed vegetables, and soups, which are easier to digest. Herbal remedies such as Triphala can help regulate digestion and promote bowel movements, while ginger tea may enhance digestion and reduce gas. Gentle physical activities like walking or yoga can stimulate digestion, and deep breathing exercises or meditation can help manage stress. Ensure you stay hydrated by drinking warm water throughout the day, as this can also aid digestion. Addressing your diet, lifestyle, and stress levels can improve your digestive health significantly. However, having a comprehensive understanding of your specific situation will allow for more refined recommendations, so please share additional details.
Your situation sounds frustrating, and it really does seem like the digestion’s been taking a toll. So, let’s address these symptoms a bit at a time. In Ayurveda, the key thing is to understand your dosha, which in this case, you’re experiencing a likely imbalance of Vata and a bit of Pitta possibly. This can be causing the weak digestion and fatigue.
To improve your digestion, start with your agni, or digestive fire. Think of it like needing to stoke a weak flame. Begin with warming teas like ginger or cumin water–ginger can really help ignite that digestive fire. Sip throughout the day, warm water, like every hour or so,—helps keep things moving along without shocking the system.
Diet-wise, go for easily digestible foods, maybe moong dal khichdi is a good option. It’s light and nourishing. Avoid heavy, oily, or very spicy foods, as they throw your doshas further out of balance. Steamed veggies, gentle spices like coriander, fennel, cumin should be your companions.
Focus on stress too, since it has a funny way of messing with digestion. Daily practices like gentle yoga or even deep breathing exercises (pranayama) for 10 minutes might be your best bet. Don’t overdo this, just enough to calm the mind. Meditation could also be useful to balance anxiety – few minutes a day can be grounding.
As for the fatigue, good thing to check your sleep pattern. Ensure a regular sleep schedule and wind down with a cup of warm turmeric milk at night. It can be soothing and anti-inflammatory.
Remember, diving into lots of changes at once can be overwhelming. Start where you feel most comfortable, listen to how your body’s responding. If things persist or worsen, consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner near you could give more insights tailored just for you.
